SLAT Logical Reasoning syllabus
SLAT 2027: Symbiosis International university has opened SLAT 2027 registration on August 21, 2026. Candidates can fill application form at official website slat-test.org. Last date to submit SLAT 2027 application form and pay fee is December 4, 2026. SLAT 2027 will be held in two phases Phase 1 on December 19 and Phase 2 on December 26, 2026 in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.
Candidates can appear for both tests and higher of two scores will be considered for final evaluation. Admit cards for Phase 1 and 2 will be released on December 11 and 18, 2026 respectively. SLAT 2027 result is expected around January 12, 2027.
SLAT 2027 exam fee is INR 2,250 per test attempt, with separate programme fee of INR 1,000 per programme selected. SLAT is entrance exam for undergraduate law programmes BA LLB, BBA LLB and BCom LLB. These courses are offered across four Symbiosis Law Schools: SLS Pune, SLS Noida, SLS Hyderabad, and SLS Nagpur, with a combined seat intake of 1,380 seats.
SLAT question paper has 5 sections, and Logical Reasoning is one of most scoring sections as it does not require much legal knowledge. Each of 5 sections in SLAT carries equal weightage of 12 questions and 12 marks, so Logical Reasoning makes up exactly 20 per cent of total paper.

The SLAT merit list for a particular year is a list containing the name, registration number, and roll number of the candidates who achieved marks equal to or higher than the SLAT cut-off for the SLAT entrance exam conducted in the same year. The SLAT cut-off is made up of scores secured by candidates in the SLAT exam, PI and What. A merit list includes the name, roll number, registration number, collective marks secured by them in SLAT What, and PI their merit rank, and category. Based on the selection of candidates in the SLAT merit lists for a particular 5-year LL.B. Programme, seats are offered to each candidate. They need to book their respective seats by paying the admission before the due date ascertained by the SLS from whose merit list they get selected.
To become a topper of the SLAT exam, a candidate needs to attempt all the questions asked. There is no negative marking in SLAT. Thus, attempt all the questions.
Candidates can prepare for SLAT from Class 11 by practising topics from which questions are asked in the exam. The topics of subjects from which questions are asked in SLAT are Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension (English), and General Knowledge. Under the General Knowledge subject, SLAT aspirants also need to study static GK related to History, Geography, Indian and International Politics, and United Nations Organisation (UNO) and its bodies, and current affairs. To study the mentioned subjects for SLAT preparation from Class 11, candidates can purchase books containing sample papers, practice tests, and mock tests based on the SLAT syllabus and pattern. They can devote 1-2 hours every day to SALT preparation. Preparing for the SLAT from Class 12 can provide aspirants with a competitive edge because they will have more than a year to prepare for the entrance exam effectively.

- Statement and Assumption: These questions give a statement followed by assumptions or arguments. Candidates need to judge whether assumption is implicit in statement, or whether argument is strong or weak. This requires practice in separating opinion from logical fact.
- Syllogisms: These questions give two or more statements followed by conclusions. Candidates must see which conclusions logically follow from given statements, regardless of real-world truth.
- Cause and Effect: These questions present two statements and ask candidates to identify whether one is cause of other, whether both are independent causes, or whether both are effects of a common cause.
- Coding-Decoding and Series: These are pattern based questions where candidates decode a hidden logic in words, numbers, or letters and apply it to find answer.
- Blood Relations and Puzzles: These questions test a candidate's ability to track relationships and arrange information logically, needs a table to solve quickly.
- Critical Reasoning: These questions test how well a candidate can evaluate an argument's structure, identify logical fallacies and judge validity of conclusions.

How to Prepare for SLAT Logical Reasoning 2027?
