TS PGLCET 2026 Eligibility Criteria - Academic Qualification

Candidates seeking admission through the TS PGLCET Exam must be:

  • Should have passed LL.B./B.L. 3/5 Year degree on the date of application, for 1 year LLM
  • Candidates who have appeared/appearing for LL.B./B.L. Final year examination are also eligible to apply.

The law college must be recognised by BCI. Therefore, the candidates have to fullfill the following conditions at the time of counselling, in order to secure a seat at the TS PGLCET 2026 law college: 

  • Candidates must have passed or are appearing in the final year examinations of a five-year LLB course OR three-year LLB course to be eligible admission in LLM Course.
  • All General category candidates should have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in the aggregate of all semesters of the graduation degree
  • Candidates from the OBC category should have secured 42% marks in the qualifying degree to be considered eligible for admission. 
  • Candidates from the SC/ ST category should have secured at least 40% marks in the qualifying degree final examinations.

Note: The OBC candidates shall invariably submit their OBC certificate issued by the competent authority to support 42% of aggregate marks in Graduation, as informed by TGCHE.

Q:   Are non-local candidates eligible for TS PGLCET?

Non-locals or candidates who do not belong to Telangana can apply for TS PGLCET. However, they need to make sure to meet exam eligibility criteria. The criteria are mentioned below:

Qualification
  • Candidates must have completed a 3-year LLB or 5-year LLB degree. 
  • Candidates appearing in the final year of their 3-year/5-year LLB degree can also apply for TS PGLCET 2025. These candidates need their final marksheet at the time of TS PGLCET counselling. The minimum marks requirement in the qualifying exam (LLB exam) must be met by them.
Qualifying Marks
  • The qualifying percentage of marks in the Entrance Test is 25% (i.e. 30 marks out of total 120 marks).
  • For candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes, no minimum qualifying percentage of marks is prescribed. 
Age Limit
  • There is no age limit to apply for TS PGLCET.

TS PGLCET 2026 Eligibility Critera- Age 

According to the exam authority, there will be no age limit for the law courses admissions. Candidates can apply for LLM course irrespective of their age. It was also stated in the information bulletin of the law entrance exam, "There shall be no Age restriction for the candidates seeking admission into LLM Courses, through appearing at TS PGLCET as per the Bar Council of India Lr.
