NEET SS 2024 Documents to Carry on Exam Day
According to NBEMS, candidates have to carry the following documents to the NEET SS 2024 exam centre on the day of the exam.
The NEET SS 2025 exam dates were December 26 and 27, 2025. The exam was conducted in two shifts on both days, from 9 AM to 11.30 AM and 2 PM to 4.30 PM.
No. Candidates can't carry stationary items such as pen, writing pad etc. They can carry only admit card and valid photo identity proof at exam centre. List of items which are debarred at NEET SS exam centre include:
- Any stationery item like textual material (printed or written), Pen Drives, Eraser, etc.
- Any electronic device like mobile phone, Bbluetooth, earphones etc.
- All ornaments like bracelets, rind, earrings, Nose-pin
- Other items like wallet, Goggles, Water Bottle etc.
- Any eatable item opened or packed, soft drinks, water bottle etc.
- NEET SS 2024 Admit Card with a recent passport-size photograph affixed on it
- Photocopy of Permanent SMC/MCI/NMC registration
- Any valid photo identity card among the following:
- PAN Card
- Driving License
- Voter ID Card
- Passport
- Aadhaar Card with photograph
NBEMS states, “Candidates without original hard copy valid ID proof shall not be allowed to enter the examination premises. Photocopies of Govt. issued ID proofs shall not be accepted. Identity proof shown in DigiLocker shall also not be acceptable as candidates shall not be allowed to carry electronic devices inside the exam centre.”
NEET SS 2024 Exam Day Procedures
The step-by-step procedure to be followed on the NEET SS 2024 exam day are as follows:
- Reporting to the NEET SS 2024 exam centre: Candidates have to report to the NEET SS 2024 exam centre two hours before the exam commencement. The entry gates will close 30 minutes before the exam start time. Hence, for the mooring shift, the entry gates will close at 8.30 AM, and for the afternoon shift, it will close at 1.30 PM. NBEMS states, “Any delay in arrival to the test centre entry point (Reporting Counter) shall lead to denial of entry even if the candidate might have arrived at the premises of venue.”
- Scanning of NEET SS 2024 Admit Card: The NEET SS 2024 exam centre officials will scan the NEET SS 2024 admit card QR code or barcode, and will be informed about the assigned lab number. Alternatively, the list of Roll numbers and assigned labs will be displayed outside the test venue, which candidates are advised to crosscheck for surety.
- Checking of Identity Cards: During the entry to the exam centre, the centre officials will crosscheck candidates’ identity card and admit card. The name on the photo identification must match with the name as shown on the Admit Card. If the name has changed due to marriage etc, the candidate must show the relevant document to substantiate the claim for change in name, otherwise, candidates will not be allowed entry.
- Frisking and Security Check: Frisking and body pat will be done to candidates through a hand held metal detector (HHMD) to ensure that the candidate is not carrying any prohibited item inside the exam hall. Finger Biometrics of candidates will be captured at the time of registration for the test at test venue in CBT. In addition, photograph of the candidates shall also be captured on the exam day at the centre at the time of registration, at each bio-break and during the exam. Face ID may be verified at the time of admission to the Superspecialty course, against the photograph(s) captured.
- Taking seat at the centre: After verification of ID and capture of Face ID, candidates will be escorted to the designated computer terminal at the test centre ensuring social distancing and an Invigilator will assist the candidate for check-in process of the test. Each workstation will be blocked from three sides – front, left and right. Candidates are advised not to look around at other candidates as there will be surveillance cameras also that will record video.
- Attendance capture: During the exam, invigilators will take candidates’ manual attendance with signature and manual thumb impression.
- Staggered exit from NEET SS exam centres: After the completion of the exam, candidates will be directed to leave the test venue in a staggered manner which will be communicated by the respective centre in-charges in order to avoid crowding at the test venue exit.
Prohibited Items at NEET SS 2024 Exam Centre
The following items will be prohibited from carrying to the NEET SS 2024 exam centre:
- Any stationery item like textual material (printed or written), notes, plastic pouch, calculator, pen, writing pad, pen drives, eraser, etc.
- Any electronic device like mobile phone, Bluetooth, earphones, microphone, pager, wristwatch/health band/smartwatch, calculator, electronic pen/scanner etc.
- All ornaments like bracelets, rings, earrings, nose-pin, chains/necklaces, pendants, necklaces with pendants, badges, brooches etc. Items carried due to religious beliefs, if any, shall only be permitted after thorough examination.
- Other items like wallets, goggles, handbags, belts, caps, water bottles etc.
- Any edible item opened or packed, soft drinks, water bottles etc.
- Any other item which could be used for unfair means, for hiding communication devices like wireless/Bluetooth devices, spy cameras etc.
- In case candidates need to carry medicines or medical equipment, they must carry supportive medical documents such as prescriptions or reports.
No arrangement will be made at the NEET SS 2024 centres for keeping any articles/items belonging to the candidates. Hence, test takers are advised to keep such documents outside the centre with their friends or family members. In case any candidate is found in possession of any of the barred items inside the centre beyond the security checkpoint, it will be considered as use of unfair means and action will be taken against the candidate in accordance with the relevant provisions.

Yes, NBE or the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences provides correction facility for NEET SS application form. There are two correction or edit windows provided only for those candidates who submit the application form on time by paying the requisite application fee. The first NEET SS application correction window is for making the basic changes in the application form, in the permitted fields. In the second and the final correction window of NEET SS, candidates are given the opportunity to correct the deficient or incorrect images or files uploaded, such as photograph, signature and thumb impression. Both the NEET SS application correction windows are provided for three days.
Once the NEET SS registration process is successful, NBE sends the login credentials to the registered email ID of the applicant. Candidates must save this email and refer to this if they forget the login credentials. In case they misplace the email as well, they are advised to click on the Forgot User ID/Password tab and then enter their email address and mobile number. A link will be sent for retreiving the username or password. However, candidates are advised to preserve these crucial information right after the generation of the NEET SS credentials.
The NBE generally release the NEET SS notification and information bulletin in October. The information bulletin for NEET SS is available online on the official website of the exam in PDF format. It contains dates, eligibility criteria, application process, exam pattern, syllabus, test centre cities, admission process, among others.
