Commonly asked questions
Q:   What is meant by GPAT cutoff?
A:

GPAT cutoff refers to the minimum scores which candidates must obtain in order to qualify for the exam or to be eligible to participate in the counselling or the selection process at the participating institutes. The GPAT cutoff is shared by NBEMS on the official website for the candidates who wish to apply to MPharma colleges. Every institute has set their individual admission criteria which the applicants need to follow to seek admission to the preferred course and college.

Q:   What was last year's GPAT cutoff?
A:

Last year, GPAT cutoff was 148, 122, 120, 94 and 75 for General, EWS, OBC, SC, and ST category candidates. However, this year's GPAT cutoff will depend on several factors such as the difficulty level & number of students who appeared in the entrance exam. Students will be able to take admission on first come first serve basis. If the number of GPAT applicants increases, competition would also get tougher, and the cutoff will soar higher.

Q:   Who declares GPAT cutoff?
A:

NBEMS the official exam conducting body is the responsible authority to release the GPAT cutoff at the official website. The GPAT cutoff will also be released by the participating institutes that accept GPAT scores. NBEMS doesn't conduct the counselling for M.Pharma admissions. It will be responsible for releasing the merit list of GPAT 2025 along with the result mentioning the status of qualifying, name of candidates. Once the GPAT cutoff is announced by individual colleges/institutes, candidates can check the cutoff score on their individual websites to seek admission in the preferred course and college.

Q:   Is GPAT cutoff released with the result?
A:
In general, GPAT cutoff is released with the result every year on the official webiste of NTA dedicated to the GPAT exam: GPAT. NTA. Nic. In. The GPAT cutoff marks for the previous year are: 148 for General category candidates, 120 for the OBC category, 94 for SC, 75 for ST, and 122 for EWS category candidates. At the time of counselling, candidates will have to carry all the required documents for the purpose of document verification.

How to Calculate GPAT 2026 Scores?

Candidates can calculate their raw GPAT scores using the marking scheme shared below:

  • +4 marks for each correct answer.
  • -1 mark for every incorrect answer.
  • 0 marks for unanswered questions.

Candidates should use the process shared to calculate the expected scores of GPAT 2026-

  • Tally the answers in your response sheet with GPAT answer key 2026.
  • Count the number of correct and incorrect answers.
  • Multiply the number of correct answers by 4
  • Deduct 1 mark for each wrong answer
  • The remaining scores are the GPAT expected marks.

For example, if a candidate answers 50 questions correctly and 10 incorrectly, then the GPAT 2026 score will be calculated as:

(50 × 4) – (10 × 1) = 190 marks.
