With only three months left for the IPMAT exam 2025, the preparations of the aspiring students must be in full swing. Shiksha.com conducted an exclusive poll to know what is the approach of the students planning to appear for the IPMAT exam. The majority of the students say they are preparing for IPMAT along with the board preparations. Read the article below to know more.

IPMAT poll

IPMAT 2025 is scheduled to be conducted on May 12, 2025, and is one of the most popular BBA entrance exams. Students aspiring to take admission to the five-year Integrated Program in Management (IPM) offered by IIM Indore can apply for the IPMAT 2025 exam once the application forms are released. Given that the IPMAT exam is scheduled in May, i.e. just three months before the board exams, many students are faced with the challenge of balancing board preparation and IPMAT preparation.

Shiksha conducted an exclusive poll to shed light on how students are balancing their board exams and IPMAT preparation. According to the ongoing poll, it has been revealed that there is a diverse mix of preparation approaches:

  • 42% of students are preparing for the IPMAT exam alongside their Class 12 board exams.
  • 38% of students are focusing entirely on board exams and plan to start IPMAT preparation after March.
  • 5% have enrolled in coaching programmes to ensure structured guidance.
  • 5% are solving IPMAT sample papers to familiarize themselves with the IPMAT exam pattern.
  • 10% of students intend to begin their IPMAT preparation in the last few months before IPMAT 2025.

Students who are preparing for the IPMAT exam along with the board exams may face significant challenges in terms of time management. To overcome this, students must follow a structured study plan, dedicating weekends to the IPMAT preparation while prioritizing board subjects on weekdays. Meanwhile, students who are planning to start the IPMAT exam preparation after March should rare to focus on intensive IPMAT preparation which can help them concentrate on each exam separately. However, according to the experts, students must dedicate at least 3-6 months to IPMAT Indore preparation as a short preparation period could make it harder to build logical and analytical skills required for IPMAT.

IPMAT toppers and experts suggest that the students should strike a balance between the board exams and IPMAT preparation to avoid last-minute hassle and stress. Regular mock tests, strategic study plan and targetted revision can help the students prepare effectively for Class 12 board exams as well as IPMAT.

Education experts suggest that students should strike a balance between board exams and entrance test preparation to avoid last-minute stress. Regular mock tests, strategic time allocation, and targeted revision can help students prepare effectively for both board exams and IPMAT. Students should create a preparation strategy that aligns with their strengths and weaknesses. With competition increasing every year, a disciplined and well-structured approach will be key to securing a seat in IIM Indore and institutes which accept IPMAT scores.
