The Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar course admissions mode as decided by the college is online. NIT Jalandhar Phd admission is based on the student's merit and the entrance examination scores accepted for the available courses. The institute provides the BTech course to students wanting admission at the UG level and the MSc, MBA, and MTech courses are available at the PG level. The college accepts JEE Main scores, followed by the JoSAA - counselling for admission to BTech programme. Aspirants can only give JEE Main six times in three-consecutive years. JEE Main application can be submitted by teh students only after passing their class 12th final exams.

For admission to its MTech programme, NIT Jalandhar accepts the GATE scores. The institute accepts IIT JAM - scores for admission to its MSc course. The National Institute of Technology over the years has accepted national-level and state-level entrance examinations such as CAT, MAT, etc for admission to its MBA course. After getting good scores in the entrance examinations, candidates must apply for the counselling sessions, such as JoSAA & CCMT.
