Current Affairs

The candidates should note that current affairs is enormous but the number of questions anticipated from this section is few. Most of the questions asked in the SSC CGL exam are based on current affairs, though the Commission is asking questions about the previous year’s events in the name of current affairs. The candidates should constantly prepare notes of the events and upgrade them with the current happenings across the nation and the world. The best source to prepare the Current Affairs is the following:

  • Current Affairs questions

Apart from the newspaper, the candidates should regularly visit any website that covers current affairs regularly. This is required so that all the events are covered for the exam. Besides the above, the candidate can take the yearly issues of current affairs magazines from a different publication.

History, Art and Culture

The History questions are asked from the Art and Culture part of the specific era. The questions ask the objective information such as the place, architecture type, the ruler who built a monument and such information. Staff Selection Commission asks a few questions from the History of India section. It includes the following:

  • Ancient History
  • Medieval History
  • Modern History and Indian National Movement

The candidates should prepare the Modern History and Indian National Movement thoroughly. The candidates should also prepare the Ancient and Medieval History but not that deeply.

International News

SSC ask very few questions about International news in the SSC CGL exam. The candidates should prepare only some aspects of the International news these aspects can be the following:

The candidates should not give much time to international news.

Sports News

This is an important component of General Awareness and the candidates should cover International and national sports. The candidates should cover sports news under current affairs.
