UPSC conducted the IAS prelims 2022 exam on June 5 in two sessions. In the first session, the General Studies Paper-I (GS paper) was conducted. Most of the candidates who appeared in the exam told Shiksha.com that the IAS CSAT paper was easy to qualify. If a candidate has practised the maths and reasoning questions, it was easy to score 33 % or 27 questions in the Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT). IAS exam 2022 was notified for 1011 vacancies.
Various coaching institutes are in the process of preparing the IAS answer key. But the official answer key will be released by UPSC after the completion of the exam process.
General Studies Paper-II is called CSAT although it was the name given to the whole prelims exam by UPSC. IAS Prelims General Studies Paper-II (CSAT Paper) ask questions from the following sections:
- Aptitude
- English
- Reasoning
- Communication
- Decision Making
The marks secured in the CSAT paper are not considered for the IAS Prelims result because the candidates need to score only 33 per cent marks in the paper. It implies that, out of 80 questions, the candidates need to mark 27 correct questions, excluding the negative marking.

- Number system
- Geometry
- Algebra Questions
- Average
- Interest
From the Reasoning section, the questions were asked from the
- Seating Arrangement
- Non-verbal Reasoning
The candidates told Shiksha.com that the questions asked in Maths and Reasoning section were easy to solve though a bit time taking.
English Questions in IAS Prelims CSAT
English Comprehensions were of two types. The long ones and the short ones. Long Comprehensions were easy and doable. But the short ones were difficult to answer because it was difficult to make inferences from the open-ended statements.
Communication and Decision-making questions were at par with the last year's questions.

The questions asked in the IAS Prelims CSAT 2022 paper were easy and most of the questions were doable. They said that it was easy to qualify in the CSAT paper. IAS result 2022 will be released within one month from the exam date.

The UPSC IAS Notification 2026 has been postponed due to administrative reasons. The Commission released a notice on its official website - upsc.gov.in regarding this. The Commission will also revise the last date for UPSC applications.
