UPSC IAS 2020 prelims exam was conducted on October 4 across the nation. Some of the candidates were surprised by the questions asked in the UPSC question paper. See the video for the details.
UPSC conducted the IAS Prelims 2020 exam on October 4 across the nation. UPSC question paper followed its well-known standard and trend. UPSC tends to surprise all the candidates by not the following trend. There was a mix of questions from every category as given in the IAS syllabus.
Candidates find the UPSC prelims 2020 question paper little difficult because of the conceptual and analytical orientation of the UPSC question paper. Many questions were lengthy and the candidates were expected to derive the answer by reading the long question text. Though the number of the question were the same, the text of some of the questions was long.
The Student also underlined that there were a majority of geography questions having the current affairs orientation. The Indian Economy questions were also skewed towards the Current affairs.

Most of the candidates surprised by the ancient history and culture questions. Thought the section is mentioned in the IAS syllabus but UPSC had stopped asking the questions from the Ancient History and hence questions from the ancient history and Cultural surprised the candidates.

Most of the candidates comfortable with the arrangements by the UPSC related to the coronavirus pandemic. The attendance of the candidates will be a cause of concern because there was high absent ratio at the UPSC exam centres. The commission provided separate water bottles to each candidate. The number of candidates was very less than the capacity of the examination hall.

The UPSC IAS Notification 2026 has been postponed due to administrative reasons. The Commission released a notice on its official website - upsc.gov.in regarding this. The Commission will also revise the last date for UPSC applications.
