CUET PG Science Courses Eligibility Criteria

Around 2.5 lakh candidates appear for CUET PG MSc courses every year, out of a total of four lakh applicants. MSc courses are one of the most preferred courses among the CUET PG aspirants. Candidates appearing for the CUET PG 2026 MSc courses must be aware of the minimal eligibility criteria that one needs to satisfy in order to get admission to the CUET PG 2026 participating universities.

The CUET PG MSc courses eligibility criteria 2026 refer to the minimum qualifications, typically a bachelor's degree with a specified percentage of marks or equivalent qualifying exams. These specifications ensure a baseline level of academic preparedness among entrants, thereby safeguarding the quality of postgraduate education.  NTA will conduct the CUET PG 2026 exam in March 2026, for a window of around 15 days and three shifts each day. Candidates need to start their CUET PG 2026 preparation soon to get the desired seat in the participating universities.

CUET PG Eligibility Criteria 2026 for Science Stream

There are a total of 30 MSc courses that are being offered through the CUET PG 2026 exam. To meet the eligibility criteria to get admission in the CUET PG 2026 MSc Courses offered, aspirants must satisfy the requirements stated below. 

CUET PG 2026 MSc Courses Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit And Qualifications

Candidates must fulfil the eligibility factors decided by the Central Universities in order to apply and appear for CUET PG 2026. NTA has announced the eligibility criteria or factors in the information bulletin, which has been released along with the CUET PG application form 2026. The eligibility criteria for CUET PG 2026 are as follows:

  • Candidates must have passed a Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognised institute
  • Final year students are also eligible to apply, provided they pass the qualifying exam before the counselling process
  • There is no age limit for applying for CUET PG exam. However, universities may have separate eligibility criteria regarding age limit or other factors

Important Note:

  • For admission in Universities through CUET PG 2026, the existing policies regarding quota, category, relaxation, reservations, qualification, subject combinations, preferences, etc. of the
    respective University shall be applicable.
  •  As the eligibility criteria for admission may be unique for every University, the candidates are advised to visit the University website to which they are applying for their respective programs.
  • Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess the eligibility criteria laid down by the University they are applying.
  • Mere appearance in the Entrance Test or securing pass marks at the test does not entitle a candidate to be considered for admission to the Programme unless he/she fulfil the Programme
    wise eligibility conditions of the University they are applying to.

CUET PG 2026 MSc Course Specific Eligibility Criteria

Candidates preparing for various MSc courses offered by the CUET PG 2026 exam can find the minimal eligibility criteria here. Candidates must note that merely satisfying the CUET PG MSc courses eligibility criteria will not give them admission to colleges. Candidates also need to secure the required CUET PG cut-off mentioned by the participating universities.

NOTE: The below-mentioned eligibility criteria for MSc courses are taken from some of the popular universities. The CUET PG 2025 Eligibility Criteria for Science Stream is subject to change from university to university.

M. Sc. Agricultural Science: Admissions to BHU and Other Universities

1. Candidates with 4-year BSc (Ag..)/BSc (Hons.) Ag../BSc (Horticulture) Degree with credit-based course programme.
2. Candidates with a 4-year B.Sc. (Horticulture) Degree with a credit-based course programme under the guidelines of ICAR will be considered for all disciplines of the MSc (Ag..) course except MSc (Ag.) Agronomy.
*A student having an equivalent bachelor’s degree in agriculture from a foreign university may also
be considered. 

SCQP02 Agro-forestry
  • Passed 4-year B.Sc.(Ag)/B.Sc. (Hons.) Ag. Or a 4-year degree programme in B.Sc. (Forestry) / B.Sc.

  • B.Sc. (Hons.)/ B.Sc. under 10+2+3 pattern, securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate in Science subjects (considering all the three years of B.Sc. Course). The subject in which admission is sought must be Hons. subject at B.Sc. (Hons.) level/a subject studied in all three years at the Graduate level. SCQP09 Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Application, Big Data Analytics, Cyber, Security, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, etc. Following degree holders from recognised Universities with a minimum score of 50% marks in graduation for the general category and a minimum of 45% marks for reserved categories are eligible:
1. BCA/B.Sc. Computer Science/B. Sc. IT/B. Tech. Comp Engg/B. Tech. IT/ or equivalent.
2. B. Sc. Computer Science as one of the subjects at the Graduation Level.

SCQP13 Forensic Science
  • (i) Any science graduate under 10+2+3 pattern securing a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and having Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Genetics, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Psychology, Computer Science, Statistics, Forensic Science, Geography, Geophysics and Geology as the main subject (combination of at least three of the subjects) at the Under Graduate level.     (ii) Any graduate having MBBS /BDS /B.Tech. /B.E. /B.Pharm. degree securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate (For Banaras Hindu University)

  • Physics: B.Sc. (Hons.) Physics from any recognised Indian or foreign university (foreign recognition to be as per AIU list) with 50% or above marks or equivalent grade in aggregate. OR Graduation in any branch of Science or Engineering with Physics and Mathematics as two of the Subjects of study with 55% or above marks or equivalent grade in aggregate (Relaxation of 5% to the SC/ST/PWD/ OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates).
  • Computational Physics: Bachelor’s degree in Science with Physics and
    Mathematics is the main subject with 50% marks {45% in case of SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PWD} in
    aggregate from a recognised Indian or foreign University.
  • Computational and Integrative Sciences: A minimum of 55% marks in a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering/ Computer Sciences or related allied areas. (All OBC category (non-creamy layer) candidates are eligible to 10% relaxation in the percentage of marks in the qualifying examination in relation to the open category. The SC/ST and Persons with Disability (PWD) candidates who have passed the qualifying examination, irrespective of their percentage of
    Marks are eligible to appear in the Entrance Examination.)
  • Electronics: B. Sc. in Mathematics, B. Sc. in Physics, B. Sc. in Electronics, B. Sc. in Computer Sciences, B. Sc. in Information Technology and other allied subjects.
  • Applied Physics: Any branch of B.Sc/B.Tech/BCA/MBBS. Minimum 60% in the qualifying examination. Relaxation in marks to reserved candidates as per University norms.
SCQP25 Plant Biotechnology B.Sc. In Plant Biotechnology/B.Sc. In Biotechnology/B.Sc. Botany/ B.Sc. Biochemistry/ B.Sc. Microbiology/B.Sc in Bio-Informatics with a minimum of 50% marks aggregate
SCQP26 Soil Science - Soil & Water Conservation

Passed 4-year B.Sc.(Ag)/B.Sc. (Hons.) Ag.. from a recognised University. Secured at least 6.0/10 or 2.5/4, 3.5/5, 4.0/6 OGPA for general category candidates and 2.0/4, 3.0/5, 3.5/6 and 5.5/10 OGPA for SC/ST/OBC/PWD category candidates under the Course Credit System in qualifying examination, as per
University guidelines and has not secured more than one III-division or equivalent OGPA in his/her academic career (For BHU)

SCQP27 Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics & Computing, Data Science and Applied Statistics etc Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 60% marks in the aggregate of optional subjects with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the subjects; OR with at least 55% of marks for those students who have done B.A. /B.Sc. (Hons) course in Maths / Statistics.
SCQP28 Zoology, Sericulture, Human Genetics A minimum of 50% marks or an equivalent grade in a Bachelor's/UG degree with Chemistry for MSc (Chemistry) / with Botany for MSc (Botany) / with Zoology for MSc (Zoology) as one of the subjects from a recognised University or an equivalent examination.
SCQP29 Atmospheric Science Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University in any discipline of Science (with Physics as one of the core subjects)/Engineering with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate for the general category and 45% or equivalent grade for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS candidates.

There is only one section A for CUET PG exam. Section B which comprises general awarenessa and knowledge has been removed as per exam pattern. CUET PG 2026 application form process has been concluded. Last date to submit application form was January 23, 2026. Correction window was active till January 30, 2026. Exam is scheduled to be held from March 6 till March 27, 2026 for various courses. No extension has been provided by NTA.

NTA has reduced number of centres from 312 to 292 in CUET PG 2026. In addition, students can choose 4 city choices. Earlier they were provided only 2 options. This time, students will have to answer only A section which is domain specific.

Registration fee for CUET PG 2026 varies for each category. For General students, registration fee is INR 1400 while for OBC, fee is 1200. SC/ST category students ahve to pay INR 1100 as application fee. This fee is for choosing maximum two test papers.

Yes. CUET PG application process has already been completed. NTA had released CUET PG 2026 application form online on December 14, 2026. Last date to submit application form for CUET PG 2026 was January 23, 2026.

Those who have bachelor's or equivalent degree from recognised institute or college can appear for CUET PG 2026. Final year students are also elligible for CUET PG exam. There is no capping on age in CUET PG exam.

NTA has not provided exact date for CUET PG city intimation slip. In official notification, NTA has said city intimation slip will be uploaded 10 days before exam. As CUET PG is scheduled from march 6, city intimation slip will be uploaded by February 23, 206.
