Yes, NTA added some new topics in the CUET PG MCA syllabus for the academic session 2025-2026. There are three major subjects in the CUET PG MCA syllabus, namely, Decision Making and Thinking Skills, Mathematics and Computers. The exam officials added a few more topics in the Computer subject.

The added topics are mentioned below:

• Computer networks: OSI Model, TCP/IP model, LAN technologies (Ethernet, Token ring), Transmission media – twisted pair, coaxial cables, fibre-optic cables, Flow and error control techniques,
• Routing algorithms, Congestion control, IP (v4), Application layer protocols (icmp, dns, smtp, pop, ftp, http); Sliding window protocols; Internetworking: Switch /Hub, Bridge, Router, Gateways,
• Concatenated virtual circuits, Firewalls: Network Security; Cryptography- public key, secret key.
• Domain Name System (DNS)-Electronic Mail and World Wide Web (WWW). 
• Database Management System: Data Models, Schemas, and Instances; Three-Schema Architecture and Data Independence; Database Languages and Interfaces; Centralized and Client/Server Architectures for DBMS, Functional Dependencies and Normalization; Algorithms for Query Processing and Optimization; Transaction Processing, Concurrency Control Techniques, Database Recovery Techniques, Object and Object-Relational Databases; Database Security and
  Authorization. Entity-Relationship Diagram, Relational Model - Constraints, Languages, Design, and Programming, Relational Database Schemas, Update Operations and Dealing with Constraint Violations; Relational Algebra and Relational Calculus; Codd Rules.

The National Testing Agency has not released a public notice mentioning the recommendations received by the expert committee for the CUET PG 2026 examination. The exam officials have proposed changes in the exam duration, pattern, among others. Changes, if any, will be updated here, as and when the notification is released.

CUET PG 2026 is a national-level entrance exam for candidates who wish to pursue their Masters degree from the central universities. From the past years, many other state, private, and deemed universities is participating in the CUET PG examination. The examination will offer admission to a range of master's courses including normal and professional degree courses:

The CUET PG 2026 examination will be conducted by the National Testing Agency in the various examination centres across the nation a few cities outside India. The syllabus for the CUET PG papers will be set by the exam conducting authority. The subject experts, after taking all the probable suggestions from all the participating universities, will set the syllabus for the PG level entrance exam on the basis of their undergraduate course curriculum.

CUET MBA syllabus and CAT syllabus are both designed to assess aptitude for management studies.

Key Difference:

CUET PG MBA: This exam covers a wider range of topics, including general knowledge, current affairs etc.

CAT:  It is designed to assess a student problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and ability to handle complex data.

Candidates must note that the Language Comprehension/Verbal Ability section is compulsory. The General Test also has to be taken by candidates opting for all test papers except Education (PGQP01).

NTA which is known as National Testing Agency is the examination conducting body of CUET PG examination. The Role of NTA is confined to registration of candidates, conduct of the test, hosting of answer key, inviting challenges, finalising Answer Keys, preparing and declaring result and hosting Score Card. Merit list will be prepared by participating Universities/ organisations. Universities may conduct their individual counselling on the basis of the score card of CUET (PG)-2023 provided by NTA.

Factors upon which the CUET PG syllabus might change:

• One of the most important reasons that the CUET PG syllabus might change is dependent upon any changes made under the NEP- New Education Policy by the Ministry of Education.
• Changes made by UGC, Master of Human Resource Development in the master's degree programme might alter the CUET PG syllabus.
• NTA (National Testing Agency), the examination conducting body for CUET PG Examination, can change if the exam authorities feel the significance of adding some important topics in the syllabus to ameliorate the holistic approach of the students towards the subject.

CUET PG 2026 examination is expected to be scheduled in the month of March, 2026. Aspirants preparing for the CUET PG exam will be able to fill the online application form in the month January 2026. While filling up the CUET PG online application form, test taker can select only one subject in one slot of the examination day. However, from the previous year academic year, they were able to choose a maximum of 20 test paper codes in all.

Before choosing the multiple subjects for the examination, candidates are advised to check the minimal education eligibility criteria for the particular course candidate has applied for. Also check the university specific subject criteria for the subject a candidate wants to appear for.

The CUET PG exam difficulty level is depicted in the range of moderate to high. CUET PG examination is conducted into various streams and master's subjects. However the exam difficulty level varies from subject to subject. Here are some factors upon which CUET PG examination level depends:

First and foremost the exam difficulty level depends upon the preparation done by the appearing candidates.The level of questions aked by the exam authority during the examination. Some questions asked in the examination are highly miscellaneous, which increases the difficulty level of the question paper. Difficulty level factors also depends upon the number of seats the participating university is offering, or whether the number of applicants for the particular subjects are high. Difficulty level also depends on the demand of the course among the students across the country.

For example- MSc Mathematics course is highly popular among the BSc undergraduates, therefore the number of applicants for the same will be high, also the cut off of MSc Maths will be high of reputed/High NIRF ranking institutes.
