Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test (TSTET) is conducted by Department of School Education, Government of Telangana in order to shortlist candidates for appointment as teachers for Classes I to VIII in Telangana State.

All candidates who have qualification in B Ed/ D Ed/ Language Pandit or equivalent are eligible to apply for TSTET 2018 exam. For teacher recruitment conducted by the State Government, 20% weightage is given to TSTET score and 80% weightage is given to the written test conducted in Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT).

TSTET exam is conducted once a year. TSTET 2018 exam dates are not out yet. However, in 2017, the teacher eligibility test was held on July 23. 

There is no restriction on the number of attempts a candidate can take to acquire TET certificate. The official website states, “A person who has qualified in the TET examination may also appear again for improving his/her score.”

TSTET 2018 Eligibility

TSTET 2018 eligibility criteria for both the papers is as mentioned below:

TSTET Eligibility Criteria for Paper I (Classes I – V)

Candidates applying for Paper I should fulfill either of the criteria mentioned below in order to meet TSTET 2018 eligibility criteria.

• Candidates should have cleared Class XII or equivalent with minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% aggregate marks for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PhD candidates).

• Candidates must have done a two-year diploma in elementary education/ four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B El Ed)/ two-year diploma in education (special education).

OR

• Candidates should have cleared Class XII or equivalent with minimum 45% aggregate marks (40% aggregate marks for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PhD candidates).

• Candidates must have done a two-year diploma in elementary education/ four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B El Ed)/ two-year diploma in education (special education). It may be noted that this eligibility criteria is valid only for candidates who have passed or were admitted to D El Ed/ D Ed prior to issue of TSTET 2018 notification.

TSTET Eligibility Criteria for Paper II (Classes VI – VIII)

Candidates applying for Paper II should fulfill either of the criteria mentioned below in order to meet TSTET 2018 eligibility criteria.

• Candidates should have cleared BA/ BSc/ BCom with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% aggregate marks for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PhD candidates).

• Candidates should possess a degree in Bachelor of Education (B Ed) course / Bachelor of Education (B Ed- Special Education).

OR

• Candidates should have cleared BA/ BSc/ BCom with at least 50% aggregate marks (40% aggregate marks for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PhD candidates).

• Candidates should possess a degree in Bachelor of Education (B Ed) course / Bachelor of Education (B Ed- Special Education). It may be noted that this eligibility criteria is valid only for candidates who have passed or were admitted to B Ed course prior to issue of TSTET 2018 guidelines.

OR

• Candidates should have cleared four-year BA Ed/BSc Ed course with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% aggregate marks for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PhD candidates).

OR

• Candidates should have cleared bachelor of oriental language (or its equivalent)/ graduation in literature/ graduation with language concerned as one of the optional subjects/ post-graduation in language concerned.

• Candidates should have also obtained a language pandit training certificate or cleared B Ed with language concerned as one of the methodologies. This criteria is applicable for language teachers only.

Candidates appearing for the final year of B Ed exams/ diploma in elementary education are also eligible to apply for TSTET 2018.

Note: Diploma/ degree course of a candidate in teacher education should be recognised by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). However, for candidates possessing a diploma in education (special education) and B Ed (special education), the course should be recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only.

Exemption: It may be noted that teachers who were appointed before NCTE notification, dated August 23, 2010 by competent authority in Government /Local Authority are exempted from appearing for TET. However, teachers who are working in private schools and whose appointments were not approved by competent authority in Government are not exempted from appearing for TET.

TSTET 2018 Process

Step 1: Pay TSTET Application Fee

Before candidates start filling TSTET 2018 application form, they need to submit the application fee. Candidates can pay TSTET 2018 application fee online through TSONLINE or payment gateway. On successful payment of the application fee a journal number will be issued to candidates with which they can proceed with submission of application form.

Step 2: Fill TSTET Application Form

Candidates need to fill TSTET 2018 application form in the online mode on the official website of the exam. Before starting with the online filing of the form, candidates need to have the following documents in hand:

• Scanned image of latest photo in JPEG format

• Scanned image of signature in JPEG format

• Copy of Class X certificate

After filling and submitting the application form successfully, candidates are recommended to keep the hard copy of the application, that is, confirmation page, states the official website. Also, it is important that candidates keep the reference ID number (generated at the time of filling the form) for future reference.

Step 3: Download TSTET Admit Card

Candidates can download their TSTET 2018 admit card from the official website of the exam. TSTET 2018 hall ticket/ admit card is a mandatory document to be carried to the exam centre.

TSTET exam centre: TSTET 2018 exam centre details are not out yet. However, in 2017, the official website informed, "TS-TET shall be conducted in all the 31 Districts of the State. Candidate can choose any Examination Centre (District) of his choice." 

Note: Any institution (high school, college, etc.) recognised by central government/ state government/ local body can be identified as TSTET exam centre.

Step 4: Appear for TSTET

Next, candidates need to appear for TSTET 2018 at the allotted exam centre. Candidates can report at the centre 30 minutes before the commencement of the exam. Candidates reaching the centre after the commencement of exam may not be allowed to write the test paper.

Step 5: Check TSTET Result

TSTET 2018 result will be declared on its official website. To check the result, candidates first need to click the Result link present on the Home page of the website. Next, candidates need to enter their hall ticket number in the space provided. TSTET 2018 result will appear on the screen.

TSTET 2018 Pattern

TSTET exam pattern is such that the teaching entrance exam will contain two papers. Paper I will be for candidates who wish to teach Classes I – V and Paper II will be for candidates who wish to teach Classes VI – VIII. Candidates who wish to teach all classes starting from I – VIII need to appear for both the papers (if eligible).

TSTET 2018 Results

TSTET results are released on the official website of the exam as per the prescribed date once the written exam is conducted. Date for release of TSTET 2018 results is not out yet. However, for the last academic year, results for the teacher eligibility test were declared in August, 2017.

Candidates can check TSTET results by following the below-mentioned steps:

TSTET 2018 Admit Card

Candidates can download their TSTET 2018 admit cards from the official website of the exam as per the prescribed schedule. TSTET admit cards for the academic session, 2018-19 are expected to be released in July.

To download their admit card (also known as hall ticket) candidates need to follow the below-mentioned steps:

After the written exam is conducted, TSTET answer keys for all papers are released by Department of School Education, Government of Telangana on the official website of the exam. All candidates can download the key by clicking on the

TSTET 2018 answer key can be used to by candidates to check answers for all questions and get an estimation of their scores in the written exam.
