Review of Indian Institute of Technology, BHU, Varanasi.
Placements: Around 70 percent of students get placed in the final year. The highest package offered is 54 LPA, and the lowest package offered in my college is 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Microsoft, Google, Nvidia, Goldman Sachs, Tata Motors, and Amazon hire students. Around 50 to 60 percent of students get internships before their final year. Both core and non-core jobs are offered in our college.
Infrastructure: Facilities available are old, but everything needed is provided to us. Wi-Fi facilities are absolutely good. Classrooms are okay. The library is an absolute part of our college, and it has all types of book collections needed for a student. The hostel rooms are too cozy and small. The food is not that good in taste, but the quality is good enough.
Faculty: Teachers who teach us are very knowledgeable and friendly. They help us in our internships and academics. The course curriculum is relevant. Courses are very helpful and make us ready in all ways for our jobs and internships. The difficulty level of semester exams is very high. The pass percentage is around 80 percent.

The best college for placements.
Placements: Around 60-70 percent of students are placed in this course. Almost everyone chooses non-core jobs over core jobs due to the very low placement package in core jobs. The highest package is 51 LPA, and the average is around 18 LPA. The companies Indian Oil Corporation, BASF, ONGC, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not very modern. The Wi-Fi is available all over the campus. The classrooms, library, and labs are very calm without any disturbance. The hostels and mess are very neat. The college has a hospital. For sports, we have several grounds and a student activity centre.
Faculty: The teachers are very well educated and helpful. They make us think beyond the syllabus for deep understanding. This course is about process control and instrumentation, chemical relations, etc. This course is so much industry-related. The exams are a bit tough.

My college is the best in several things, like atmosphere and the study level.
Placements: There are no placements in the B.Sc. course, but in the M.Sc. course, placements take place. The highest package is 10 LPA, and the lowest package is 4 LPA. Many recruiting companies visit the college to hire students for my course. Roles are offered by chemical companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my department is the best. My department has the biggest building in the whole university. There are many labs to perform practicals. There are the highest students in my course. The hostel is also good. There are 4 to 5 mess facilities, 3 canteens, and a playground.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. They teach us in an energetic and very easy language. If we ask questions, then they answer all of those questions at any place. They also take extra classes if most students have doubts about the topic. Exams conducted are very good.
Other: I chose this course because I have a great interest in Chemistry from my school time. I love studying Chemistry. I think I need to improve my writing abilities in Chemistry, like less objective, more subjective, and teachers are also helping me with this topic.

Infrastructure: The college has very good Wi-Fi. It has clean and well-equipped labs. There are very good, nice, and clean classrooms. The quality of the food is not that satisfying but somewhat okay. They mostly cook potatoes. The library is very good. Medical and sports facilities are average.
Faculty: Teachers and professors are very helpful, highly qualified, and highly knowledgeable. Exams are very difficult and simple if we study from the beginning. They are hard if we neglect them. The pass percentage highly depends on the subject professor.

Placements: There is very little placement in undergraduate courses, but when you do post-graduation, then you can expect a good placement opportunity from this course. The average package is approximately 10 LPA, and the highest package for this year is 19 LPA. Good companies like AstraZeneca, Deloitte, and many more companies visit us.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is world-class. We have a very good department, and we also have a departmental library in which you can get most of the subject-related books to study. We have a lecture theatre complex where classes commence, free Wi-Fi, and 4 high-tech advanced labs.
Faculty: Talking about teachers, we have highly qualified professors, as there is criteria in which you can only become a teacher in BHU after pursuing BHU and having good teaching experience. The course curriculum is mainly focused on academics in UG, but in PG it becomes a placement opportunity.
Other: The course is good and has a very high return on investment. For improvement, they can make the course more industry-ready.

Some feel that the campus is absolutely safe due to the security available on the campus while others may not agree on it. Students can check out the campus by themselves when taking admission to know about the safety steps taken by the university.

Q:   Is Banaras Hindu University open for all to visit?
A:

Yes, Banaras Hindu University is usually open for all to visit. As per the information collated from web, non-BHU students can also visit and explore the campus. However, some of the areas such as library might be restricted for students.

Hostels are only available for students pursuing a course from the university. BHU provides a hostel to 50% of students via entrance results.

Q:   Should I take partial drop to get admission in BHU main campus if I am getting BHU affiliated colleges?
A:

The answer to this question depends on the priority of the students. If you wish to study your course in the main campus, then you might think of taking a drop. However, if the aim is only to get a BHU degree then going on with the affiliated college is a good option. Taking a drop is only useful if the aim is to get into a specialised course. No doubt, Banaras Hindu University is ranked university with its own perks. The university is ranked at 5 under the 'University' category in NIRF 2024 rankings. Yes, BHU does prioritise hostel facilities for its outstation students. At the time of admission and hostel allocation, the priority for the accommodation will be given to students who are from distant places. The hostel allotment to local students will be given once outstation students have been accommodated. Those seeking BHU admission, and looking for hostels might want to apply for it early for better chances of getting a room. For further hostel related queries, students can contact the help desk of the university for better guidance.

Wherein, son/daughter of BHU employees get benefits under the quota. There are 10% of seats of total admission. Additionally, the OBC, ST, and SC quota makes it up to 25%.
