Department of Chemistry, Banaras Hindu University.
Placements: There are no placements for undergraduate students in Chemistry. However, there are opportunities at the Master's level. As of this year, the university has implemented the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Many things have changed and are going to be changed. So, things might get different as compared to previous years. Let's see what goes with the placements.
Infrastructure: The facilities are good, being a government university. Labs are appropriate with well-equipped instruments. However, this clearly varies with the department you are in. I am talking particularly about the Chemistry department. Wi-Fi works for some, while for some it won't be up to the mark. Talking about hostels, I would be very honest, please do not think it is an easy admission to the hostels. The seats are few in number, especially for female candidates, and a majority of the students live in PGs near the university campus.
Faculty: The teachers are good, well-qualified, and highly knowledgeable. You can clear your doubts whenever they are available. The course curriculum is relevant. It prepares the students really well and gives them a vast knowledge about their subject. The semester exams are a bit tough compared to any local college. You have to work hard from the beginning. They are very particular about the attendance. The notes and lectures by the professors are sufficient, just go with it.
Other: Chemistry as an honors subject has vast career opportunities, particularly in the research field. The management could have been better. Fests are fewer, and more focus is emphasized on academics. Crowd is actually pretty much. Talking about scholarships, you can go with your state ones or the NSP provided by the central government.

Average but better than other B.Sc. Offering colleges.
Placements: The placement facilities at BHU are not good, as Bachelor of Science courses do not offer many jobs just after graduation. I see this as a problem of the course and not of the college. Still, if you want to land a job as a fresher just after graduation, you have to apply on your own, as the college will not help you land a job.
Infrastructure: The campus itself is very vast and has a lot of greenery. The streets are clean. Free Wi-Fi is available all over the campus, and the speed is alright. Most classrooms have smartboards along with physical, old blackboards with projectors. Hostel rooms are small but alright.
Faculty: The NEP 2020 curriculum is quite basic, with a few newly added topics (quite easy in my opinion). Exams are moderate to high in difficulty (it really just depends on your subject professors). The professors are quite knowledgeable, and most of them are friendly, but not overly so.

BHU provides the best campus life you can ever dream of. Placement part is a bit disappointing.
Placements: There is no procedure for campus placement in BHU. While studying there I never even knew if there is any placement cell or not. More or less if you want to work after Bachelors then this is not the right place. But if you want to pursue academic then you are at the right place.
Infrastructure: BHU is known for its unique infrastructure. All the buildings of BHU have more or less same architecture. Library is the best place where you can spend your time in pace. Hostel facilities are quite good. The mess food fulfill the daily nutrition need of a student.
Faculty: Faculty of BHU is very professional. The professors are helpful and are always ready to guide. The curriculum is made according to the academic syllabus, so that students don't face any problem in their higher studies. But it doesn't make them industry ready.

Important details about B.Sc. Hons from BHU.
Placements: There are very few placements for B.Sc. Chemistry. Clearing M.Sc. is necessary to access placement opportunities through the college. At the B.Sc. level, I have heard of very few placements, and the ones that do occur have a package of about 5 to 6 Lacs per annum.
Infrastructure: There are three laboratories for each B.Sc., 1st, 2nd, and third-year students, all in the Chemistry Department. The building of the department is very old, though the labs are good except for one lab for 1st-year students, which is in very old and rusty condition. There is a library in the Chemistry department, and the whole campus is equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi. Classes for B.Sc. (I & II) take place at the New Lecture Theatre Complex.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and have good teaching abilities. The syllabus was updated in 2018 and is still continuing. In each semester, there is one mid-term exam of 30 marks and one end-semester exam of 70 marks, including practical marks. Exams are neither very tough nor too easy; questions have a moderate to high difficulty level.
Other: A lot of events take place on the university campus on a frequent basis. The university campus is very vast, with an area of approximately 1500 acres and thousands of students studying in different courses.

My college is the best in several things, like atmosphere and the study level.
Placements: There are no placements in the B.Sc. course, but in the M.Sc. course, placements take place. The highest package is 10 LPA, and the lowest package is 4 LPA. Many recruiting companies visit the college to hire students for my course. Roles are offered by chemical companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my department is the best. My department has the biggest building in the whole university. There are many labs to perform practicals. There are the highest students in my course. The hostel is also good. There are 4 to 5 mess facilities, 3 canteens, and a playground.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. They teach us in an energetic and very easy language. If we ask questions, then they answer all of those questions at any place. They also take extra classes if most students have doubts about the topic. Exams conducted are very good.
Other: I chose this course because I have a great interest in Chemistry from my school time. I love studying Chemistry. I think I need to improve my writing abilities in Chemistry, like less objective, more subjective, and teachers are also helping me with this topic.
