B.Tech. in Dairy Technology - Batch of 2028

Good Infrastructure and placements- The first batch is yet to be placed.
Placements: For the first B.Tech Dairy Technology graduate students first on-table offer is from Mother Dairy of 4 LPA. 5 students have been accepted till now as far as I know others are in the last sem and are working with BHU placement cell for other offers. There are 27 students in the course up until now (final year), more about placement would only be available from this course in the department at the end of the 2024-25 session as the complete 4th year would have joined in somewhere.
Infrastructure: Air-conditioned classrooms, good lab infrastructure, and all equipment are ICAR-funded and useful for practical learning related to food and dairy fields. As it is BHU you can eat in any mess you like according to your taste. For our course the department lies near IIT BHU so the IIT canteen is our preference for food in the daytime. Mess food is good, but nothing feels tastes like home-cooked. South Indians can find it hard to adjust.
Faculty: Course curriculum from session 2024-25 has been revised as NEP 2020 and ICAR 6th dean committee reports. Course now offers multiple existing options with a diploma at the end of 1st year and 2nd year with 10 weeks of in-plant training. Teachers are good as we also have faculty members from IITs to teach us core engineering subjects in the Department of Dairy Science and Food Technology under the Institute of Agriculture Sciences at BHU. Semester exams are balanced if you try to study you won't fail for sure no one in faculty tries to fail students.
Other: As it is BHU, there are events always happening in sports and culture. You can participate in anything as long as you want to. If you look at the ICAR syllabus you find 8 credits worth of MOOCs are added in the course time of your choice. There are state scholarships available if you are from UP. Course fee is around Rs. 40,000 for the first semester and varies from Rs. 32,000- Rs. 38,000 but you get most covered in scholarship from the state if eligibility is met. There is at least one national and international conference conducted by the department annually.

Review of B.Tech in dairy technology and BHU exposure.
Placements: Placements are not so good. But you get 4-5 LPA. If I say the truth, I prefer you to not sit on the placement. Companies like Amul, Nestlé, Sudha and other milk industries are the top recruiters. The highest package is 4 LPA. The lowest package is 2 LPA. Top roles that were offered are dairy inspector, dairy engineer and dairy product sales executive.
Infrastructure: All departments are well equipped. Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms and libraries are all available in faculty and department. Classrooms have smartboards and are well equipped. Facilities are available in hostels, like gyms, messes, etc. Medical facilities are also available. Food quality is decent.
Faculty: The faculty are good and all are qualified JRFs and SRFs. Yes, the B.Tech curriculum is relevant. Students are made ready for industry. The semester exam is easy to moderate. There are 2 semesters in 1 year. Exams are not tough. 45% is the pass percentage for students. On average, all students are passed.
Other: If you are passionate about B.Tech in BHU. You are on the same path. BHU is one of the best universities not only in India but also in the universe. You are free to accept this if it is in your hand.

Would be the best one in the upcoming years.
Placements: The course has just started, so till now no one has been placed. I mean no one has even graduated to date. There are a total of 60 students including both courses. 30 students are from dairy tech and 30 from food technology. The reputed company have visited the campus.
Infrastructure: No hostel facility was available for the students. Also, the department is too far from the main campus. It feels like we are a left out part of BHU. Moreover, the worst part is that the department is in front of a dump yard detached from the main BHU area.
Faculty: The faculty members are good. Exams are conducted on time. But due to covid, our batch is running behind. We should have been in the third semester, but still we are in the second semester. The curriculum of the department is also good. Faculty members are from IIT BHU.
Other: Good campus. But would be the best in upcoming years.
