One of the best engineering colleges.
Placements: The placement percentage based on 2025 data is around 64%. It is a decent percentage, as many of the students opt for further studies and other streams, other than campus placements. SDE is the top role and is more beneficial for CSE and MNC students. Other branch students can have core placements too, as per their interests.
Infrastructure: We do not have restricted internet. LAN points are present in every hostel room. The campus's main buildings have centralized Wi-Fi known as IITG-Connect, and we can log in through our ID and ERP password. Internet speed is mediocre. Each hostel has an AC library and gym of its own. There is a big central library and a gym for the whole campus. Classroom infrastructure is way beyond what we will see in other Tier 2 colleges. There are canteens in every hostel. There are 10 boys' hostels and 3 girls' hostels on campus.
Faculty: Most teachers are helpful, very qualified in their specialties, and knowledgeable in every aspect. There is a slight language barrier between teachers, professors, and faculty members due to different accents. The course curriculum is very relevant, and all data is shared at the start of the tenure.

Improved placements in 2025 at IIT BHU.
Placements: Around 70% of students got placed from my course with the highest package of 51 LPA offered by Microsoft. The lowest package is 7 LPA-8 LPA and the average package is 16 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart, Cars24, Google, Goldman Sachs, De Shaw, etc.
Infrastructure: Our department is well-equipped with different facilities like Wi-Fi, computer labs, AC in every classroom, and smartboards attached. The mess food is fairly good with varieties in the menu. Talking about hostels, some new hostels are decent with good infrastructure and facilities.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified and supportive. The teaching quality is commendable, with a good balance between theoretical concepts and practical applications. Semester exams are moderately challenging, focusing on both understanding and application of concepts.

All about IIT BHU and its pros and cons.
Placements: About 90% of people in my course are placed. The highest package offered is 51 LPA, the lowest is 8 LPA, and the average for 2023-24 is 19.6 LPA. Top recruiting companies include big software giants like Microsoft, Google, Goldman Sachs, American Express, etc. However, the number of students offered internships is comparatively less.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at IIT BHU Varanasi isn't that great. We have decent labs with old machinery. Wi-Fi works well at most locations except a few. There are lecture halls, mostly without ACs. The library isn't very luxurious, but it holds a good collection of all the required books. Facilities in hostels are also decent, though not the best. First-year students have triple-sharing rooms, and the rest have double-sharing rooms. The food in the mess is good, but the canteens are a disaster since we don't have branded vendors like Nescafé or Domino's. Medical facilities are decent.
Faculty: Professors are helpful and know their subjects well. The teaching quality is good if you pay close attention. The course curriculum is relevant. The semester exam difficulty varies from moderate to difficult, but it's mostly based on the course and way of study. The pass percentage is high, with only a few students encountering backlogs in a few courses.

Fully satisfied with what it provides, good infrastructure and facilites.
Placements: 13 out of 15 (87%) students were placed from the batch 2024-2025 in our course where the average package was 18 LPA-19 LPA given that not a lot of them were for core (in material science) positions because core companies like Applied Materials Inc. and Loham are offering upto 30 LPA offers. The highest package was 46 LPA in Meesho for the SDE role and the lowest was around 12 LPA. Some of the companies that came were Walmart, Citi Bank, Jarvis (business analyst role), Meesho, and Loham. 2 students got internships out of 15 and off-campus because companies came for circuital branches.
Infrastructure: Our material science department has complete high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity all over the same in the lecture halls. Department has AC-furnished rooms but not lecture halls as of now. Also, material science department has some world-class quality instruments for research so research-oriented students can surely come. My hostel (Satish Dhawan) reading rooms are equipped with AC and good food quality in a mess with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food options. Canteens are open from 3:00 PM up to 4:30 AM. 3 large common rooms with TV, chess, and seating are available. Every room has Wi-Fi and ethernet.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, and many research papers published, M.Sc. PhDs from foreign universities medallists. Teaching quality is exactly like how science must be taught with examples with creativity, and very interactive in the class with all students. Course curriculum is also industry-relevant and keeps on adapting every year. Exams are as difficult as expected and sometimes stand out with questions such as trying to make a question utilizing all the knowledge learned through the course applied to a real-world problem, but the grading is relatively depend on the people around you.
Other: Clubs are good like every society you name it, astronomy club, business club, robotics club, COPS (Club of Programs), SNTC (science and technology council), quant club, football, and student alumni interaction cell. The only IIT in India that recorded a positive growth in placements such as good training and placement cell which provide classes for hard DSA topics and guidance. Fee remission is there if family income is below 5 LPA and many scholarships keep coming throughout the year. Spardha India's biggest sports fest and Kashiyatra and Technex, FMC Week are conducted.

The college provides very satisfying services and facilities.
Placements: The percentage of placed students in our course is about 70%. The top recruiting companies are Mahindra, TCS, and Suzuki Motors. Many students got internships in several reputed companies that visited our college. The highest package is 10 LPA, the average package is 6 LPA, and the lowest package is 3 LPA.
Infrastructure: The campus is very clean and surrounded by greenery everywhere, which gives fresh air. A well-stocked library is present in a huge area. Wi-Fi facilities are available for everyone on the campus. The hostel rooms are very nice and comfortable. The quality of food is hygienic.
Faculty: The teachers are very experienced and qualified. The teaching quality is very satisfying. All the college staff and faculty members are of a very polite nature and helpful. Our course is curriculum-relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready. The semester exams are not difficult.

It had a good placement in the year 2023-24 and good academic facilities.
Placements: I am from the electronics branch. It's a circuital branch, so its placement rate is 90% for our batch. Approximately 135 out of 150 students are placed. The highest salary package is approximately 90 LPA, the average salary package is 32 LPA, and the lowest salary package is 16 LPA. From my course, 40%-50% of students get internships. Top roles include ML engineering, SDE, data science, and electronics core.
Infrastructure: All basic facilities are available, such as Wi-Fi, well-equipped labs, furnished classrooms, and 24/7 library access. In the hostel, there are some issues, like irregularly hygienic food in the mess and some problems with drinking water. However, with complaints, these issues are noticed and addressed properly.
Faculty: All teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching methods are a little old, but they are understandable. From the third semester, the course curriculum is relevant. The regular class routine makes students industry-ready. Semester exams become more difficult as you progress to higher semesters. The pass percentage is approximately 40% of the total marks.
Other: I have a lot of interest in electronics and communication technology, so I chose this course. It provides the basic structure of how the modern world will be shaped into a vast world through these modern technologies. There are three fests held in the college every year, one is sports, the second is technical, and the other is cultural.

Yes, B.Sc. Mathematics (Hons.) from DU, BHU, etc. can be a good base for space science, but you'll need higher studies. After graduation, you can pursue M.Sc. in Mathematics, Physics, or Astronomy, and then appear for exams like JAM, JEST, or GATE to enter institutes such as IIST, IUCAA, or even ISR
