STEP 1: CAT Application Process

No, candidates cannot get direct admission in BHU for UG and PG courses. The university strictly offers entrance-based admission. It accepts entrance exams such as:
- CUET for BA, BCom, BSc, MA, MCom, MSc etc.
- NEET for MBBS
- JEE for BTech
- GATE for MTech
BHU offers entrance-based admissions to all its UG and PG courses. To get admission to any UG and PG courses, it is compulsory to appear for the CUET-UG/ CUET-PG entrance exams. Further, the university also accepts other entrance exam such as NEET, GATE, CAT, etc. for admission to specific courses. Hence, candidates are required to appear for the accepted entrance-exam and also meet the course-specific eligibility for admission at BHU.
CUET score required for BHU admission depends on candidates' selected course and reservation category. CUET UG cut-off for BHU admission 2026 is yet to be released. As per the BHU CUET cut-off 2025, the closing CUET UG score for admission to most courses ranged from 500 to 600 for the General AI category. For some courses, such as BSc Computer Science & BSc Mathematics with Statistics, the closing score was between 400 and 500 for the General AI category. Cut-off scores for reserved categories like OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and EWS are usually 15-20% lower than the General AI category.
The CUET BHU cutoff 2026 was published for the third round for different All India categories. For the General AI category, the cutoff ranged from 53 to145. Hence, a safe score would be above 53 for CUET BHU admissions 2026 for this category.

The university provides direct admission to the candidates who have represented India in any game/sports approved by their IOA/Federation organized at Olympic/World/Asian/Common Wealth games/SAF and World University, as per the AIU list. A good IIT JAM rank would differ depending on the category, branch and round. For the General AI category, the overall cutoff ranged from 328 to 507.
