M.Tech. in Thermal and Fluid Engineering - Batch of 2021
Offered by Indian Institute of Technology, BHU, Varanasi

IIT Bhu is a vibe, go enjoy it.
Placements: Placements of indian institute of Technology BHU were actually amazing every year. There were so many multinational companies comes in IIT Bhu for on campus placement and approximately 80 to 90 percent of students were placed every year from IIT Bhu.
Infrastructure: Our college has a library named the Shrinivas Despande Library. It had a vast collection of the latest and historical books. The facilities in the classroom were the latest but they do not have AC in the classroom but it contains a smart board, a green board and a projector. Our college had a gym which had the latest equipment and also three grounds. 2 volleyball court 2 lawn tennis court and many more courts for different games. Mainly, our college had a building name sac which contains all indoor games. The latest hostel students were provided with washing machines and AC in the reading room.
Faculty: The course curriculum in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness was good. Actually faculty were very good at IIT BHU. Approximately every week, there will be quizzes and there will mid sems and end sem examinations as well in each semester. Faculty to student ratio at IIT BHU was very good. There was a good relationship between students and faculty, although there were some faculty which were not good at building a good relationship between faculty and students.

Teachers are quite polite and maintain a friendly environment there.
Placements: From the 5th semester, students are eligible for campus placements. The highest and average salary packages as per company and profile offered are around 4 LPA - 5 LPA. My plan after getting a degree is that I want to try for defence jobs. TCS, Wipro, and Infosys are some companies offering internships for students in India. It represents an exceptional chance to work on exceptional and significant projects and contribute to the company's innovative efforts.
Infrastructure: There is a quite good range of books and journals in the library. You can get, read, and enjoy reading. There is an NCC and many sports like basketball, badminton, tennis, kabaddi, volleyball, etc. I didn't like hostel facilities as they should improve the fee of the hostel. It is quite expensive. Facilities are average.
Faculty: Our faculty members are good and maintain a healthy faculty-student relationship. There are 6-semester exams. They are moderate. Students who study well won't fail exams.

Peers are very talented in both academics and non-academics.
Placements: From the 5th semester onwards, students have to take up internships in the summer and can get placed from their internship or from 7th-semester placements. Companies such as Oracle, Amazon, and Google come to our college for placements. The packages vary from about 6 lakhs to 40 lakhs per annum. Almost 70-75% of the students get on-campus placements, while the rest mostly pursue higher studies.
Infrastructure: Campus life is good. There is a green lush campus that allows students to pursue their studies for 4 or 5 years, which makes them eligible to enter corporate life. The facilities provided here are top-class, as it is government-funded, so there is no problem with money, but it still lacks ACs. There is a Students Activity Center (SAC) that allows students to enhance their fitness, with facilities starting from a gym, badminton, chess, and table tennis; every game is available to play.
Faculty: The faculty are highly educated and skilled professionals, having graduated from the top institutes of the country. The course structure is the same for all 14 branches in the first year. In the second year, each branch dives into its core subjects; the 3rd year is the internship year, and the 4th year is for placements. The exams include one final exam, one mid-semester, and two quizzes each semester for every subject.

Campus life is superb, and the college has one of the largest campuses in India.
Placements: Placement is good primarily for specific branches such as Chemical, Paint, Mechanical, etc. In Paint, there’s 100% placement. For other branches, it largely depends on individual performance. Companies like Exxon Mobil, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Samsung, Honeywell, Amazon, and Adani Wilmar frequently recruit here. Average packages vary by branch; for instance, Chemical sees an average of 4 LPA, while Paint ranges between 5-6 LPA.
Infrastructure: Hostels offer good value for money, with double-sharing rooms. Most hostels are older but are equipped with Wi-Fi and 24-hour purified water. Each hostel has affordable canteens, following the Maharaja system used at IIT BHU. Food quality is generally very good. New hostels, such as Morvi 2, DG1, and DG2, have enhanced facilities.
Faculty: The curriculum is well-rounded, balancing academics with industrial experience. There are industry partnerships to help students understand practical applications rather than just theoretical knowledge. The college also organizes industrial trips and invites notable professionals in various fields to help students prepare for professional life after graduation.

The faculty are highly qualified in their fields.
Placements: Almost 80% of students were placed in our course. Last year, some students went for higher studies like a Ph.D. and some of the students were placed at Wants Ceramics Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, as executive engineers. The average salary is nearly INR 30,000 per month. The interesting thing is that our subject is only an M.Tech. course offered in the whole North East. Last year, some of the students completed an internship at CSIR Jamshedpur. Overall, good placement was offered after the completion of the course.
Infrastructure: The hostel facility is quite nice; we get water coolers, three gardens, and three badminton courts. The bathrooms are equipped with geysers and we have a canteen that opens up until 2 a.m. The meal is quite nice and we get 3 days of non-vegetarian. The menu is nice and can be changed by the selected mess secretary. They also provide sweet fruits and milk products. Hostel Fee : INR 16000 per year.
Faculty: Our course curriculum and exam structure for M.Tech material science and engineering are as per UGC rules and regulations. In our course curriculum, the 1st semester has a total of 3 core branch subjects and 2 elective subjects offered by our department and another other department, as well as 2 labs. In the 2nd semester, we have 2 core subjects, 2 elective subjects, one computer foundation course, and 2 labs. In the 3rd and 4th semesters, we have only a project and presentation. Overall, a good curriculum structure is available here. Class size:-50 The course costs INR 167000 per year.

This college is excellent in all aspects.
Placements: Many top techs and mechanical gains like Optum and Tata hire students in good bulk packages. The highest salary package offered is 52 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 10 LPA. Many companies offered 6-month internships to train students well for the future. Roles like sde and associate sde are offered.
Infrastructure: They lack facilities and although the things which are related to study or sports are good. The food and living standards are not good and many live in flats and rent. They have all sorts of facilities when coming to the sport as mentioned earlier also and all possible books in the library.
Faculty: Faculty members are good if students work with them. They are not going to spoon-feed students, but they have to ask for their help. They are regular but their experience will make students worth. The curriculum is very advanced and exams are tricky but manageable. This college is worth it.
Other: I opted for this course, because I was interested in this course since my childhood.

Highly recommended college for good rankers in GATE.
Placements: In 2019, out of 3 people in systems engineering 2 were placed and one opted for establishing own business. The highest package was around 10 LPA and the lowest is around 9 LPA. Top companies are - Texas instruments, Robert bosch, Eaton, Mercedes Benz, Tata motors etc. No internship was there at our times, but now a days Masters are also shortlisted for internships. Top roles were - R&D engineer, Engineer etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi has one of the fastest speed in India. Labs are well-equipped. Classrooms are pretty old as they are built a century ago, but continued to improve. In hostel, we have Wi-Fi, you can have your washing machine, badminton courts, table tennis area and no restriction.
Faculty: Teachers are among the best brains in India. Some of them are quite in their 60s. Teaching quality is also awesome and most importantly the suicide in IIT BHU due to mental stress is negligible or not present. The course is well structured and can make students industry ready.
Other: Life at BHU is love.

Satisfied with the infrastructure and facilities available here.
Placements: Placements in our college are very good for the students of B.Tech and IDD courses. However, only a few core companies such as ceramic industries visit the campus to hire the students of the M.Tech course. Even the internship opportunities are good for the students who come from M.Tech and research backgrounds. The college has a training and placement cell.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. All the facilities related to studies, sports and entertainment are available for students. Even the quality of the food offered in the mess and canteen is good. There's a wide variety of food available for students coming from various areas of India. A health centre is also available for any medical issues.
Faculty: All the teachers are well-qualified and experienced. The student to faculty ratio is very low, and even the teaching quality and methodology are very good. IIT BHU signed MoUs with many industries so that students can have good opportunities to get placements and industry exposure.
