No, you cannot take admission at Faculty of law, Calcutta university with CLAT score. This is because CLAT is an entrance test only for admission in National Law Universities in India. The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) conduct entrance test which is WBCHSE entrance test, by which students can take admission at this Institute. Cutoffs will be released by the Institute according to the seats intake and applications. So, to take admissions at this Institute only this entrance test is to be qualified and students cannot use CLAT score to take admissions. 

No, students cannot join Faculty of law, Calcutta university directly without any entrance test for any course. Students need to qualify in the entrance test in order to get the admission. The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education conduts entrance test which is  WBCHSE entrance  exams . Through this entrance exam, students can take admission. A cut off will be released according to the seats intake and applications. Seat intake for different courses is also different and cut off will also be different. So if any student wants to take admission he /she need to qualify in the entrance exams as well as in the cut off.

Regretfully, Kirkland & Ellis LLP and Latham & Watkins LLP do not usually hire students straight out of the University of Calcutta's Faculty of Law.

Several important factors

Indian legal schools teach civil law, but international law firms like Kirkland and Latham typically hire attorneys with training in common law. They favor hiring from National Law Universities or the best Indian law schools.

Being renowned international law firms, they typically don't recruit attorneys directly from universities, but rather from those who have some prior work experience or who have proven their expertise.

Their hiring procedure in India is extremely selective, prioritizing students from the best national law schools. Calcutta University's Faculty of Law doesn't seem to be a major target institution.

Nonetheless, the Faculty regularly places students in corporate openings, judgeship positions, and law firms, among other recruiters. However, it's unlikely that Kirkland & Ellis and Latham & Watkins would be regarded as top campus recruiters in particular. Later in their careers, students might apply to these companies for experienced hiring.

The eligibility criteria for the Faculty of Law at Calcutta University, apart from national-level entrance exams, include the following:
Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in the best four subjects at the 10+2 level from a board recognized by the University of Calcutta. For SC/ST/persons with disabilities (disability 40% or more), a minimum of 40% marks in the best four subjects is required, excluding environmental studies of WBCHSE.

Calcutta University is a public state University that is accredited with a Grade A by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
