The University of Delhi offers a full-time LLM programme of two to three years duration at the postgraduate level. This course is offered by Faculty of Law under DU. University of Delhi LLM admission is conducted in online mode and for final selection, candidates are required to appear for the entrance exam conducted by the university. Graduation is the minimum qualification required for DU LLM programme. Below is detailed eligibility for LLM:
- Aspirants need to complete a three or five-year LLB degree from the University of Delhi or any other Indian or Foreign University recognised as equivalent by DU with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for OBC-NCL/ PwD/ CW and 40% aggregate for SC/ ST) or equivalent can apply for LLM course.
- Candidates securing the marks prescribed above or appearing in the qualifying degree examination or awaiting the results of any such examination are eligible to appear in the LLM Entrance Test but the admission will depend on their securing the minimum eligibility marks prescribed above.
In the past admission to DU courses was based on DUET score. However, CUET is now accepted for DU admission. Below is the previous year cutoff data:

Once selected, candidates are called for counselling. Candidates need to bring below documents for DU LLM Counselling and verification:
- Admission Ticket LLM Entrance Test
- Age Certificate (High School/ Matriculation)
- Character Certificate (not older than six months on the date of admission)
- Degree Certificate (Provisional Certificate if applicable) of qualifying degree examination
- Marksheet of the qualifying degree examination
- Scheduled Caste/Tribe/EWS & OBC non-creamy layer) /PwD/CW certificate. Non-creamy layer certificate must be of the current financial year or as directed by the Admission Committee of the University of Delhi
- Eight passport size photographs
- Printout of original registration form submitted for registration of admission of LLM
- Any other document as notified on the university website
Below are the DU attendance rules for LLM programme:
- Students should have attended a minimum of two-thirds of the total number of lectures delivered in the term in which he/ she has been admitted as a regular student; and
- He/ she should have submitted the research paper for class discussion in each course and the teacher teaching the course is satisfied with the paper and presentation in the class
- All students must submit a printed copy of their class presentation with Anti-Plagiarism Certificate before the end of the semester in the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Law, DU
- No students will be promoted to the next term, if he/she was detained for shortage of attendance and/or non-submission of written research papers in all the courses in class discussion and failed to get certificate from the teacher, teaching the subject
