DTU Admission Overview 2026
DTU admission process 2026 is both entrance-based and merit-based. The college offers numerous UG, PG and PhD programmes in the field of Management, Economics and Engineering. Some of the courses are Btech, BA Economics, BDes, BBA, MDes, MTech, MA Economics, MBA and PhD. BTech is the flagship programme at DTU. Admission to BTech is based on JEE Main scores, and the entire process of counselling is conducted by the Joint Admission Committee (JAC).
Delhi Technological University admission to all the remaining courses is based on national/ university-level entrance exams, such as UCEED, GATE, CAT, MAT, and CMAT, among others. The higher (better) the score, the higher are chances of admission. Students from General category must have JEE Mains rank above 10,000 to have high chances. In the last round of JAC Delhi counselling students with a rank ranging between 4810 and 24274 were able to score admission. However, the higher the rank, the less competitive specialisation was offered. This rank range mentioned is for Computer Engineering and Environmental Engineering, respectively.
If candidates have identical Common Rank List (CRL) in JEE (Main) - 2026 Paper-I even after applying NTA's tie-breaking measures, the following order of additional tie-breaking criteria shall be adopted for seat allocation in JAC Delhi:

Register to begin the application process. BTech programme's admission is done via the Joint Admission Counseling (JAC). Therefore candidates must visit the official website of JAC and register there by providing all the required details. For, BBA/ MBA candidates must apply through CMAC's official website. Further, for the rest PG and PhD programme candidates must apply on the official website of DTU.
Selection Process
Candidate's applications are scrutinised for the selection process. For, BTech and BArch programmes, JEE Main's score is considered for selection. GATE and MAT exams are considered for the BTech, MBA and Executive MBA programme selection respectively. For PhD, the selection is done based on the Entrance Test + PI conducted by the university. Following the entrance exam, candidates need to undergo counselling process depending upon the course. Admission is given based on rank achieved in entrance exam.

No, DTU does not conduct any entrance exam of its own for admission to any of the UG, PG or doctoral-level courses. DTU is indeed a great college for engineering, specially B.Tech. Since it takes students through JEE Mains, the quality of students is also very good.
Being a very old government college, it has gained immense recognition as well. Syllabus is a bit outdated. The subjects in the first year are common for all, irrespective of branches. Classes are held regularly, though there are bunks as well during exams, fests etc.
The professors are well educated, most of them have done PhD. Some of the teachers are good, interesting while some make the subject very boring and dull. Some of them would just copy the things from the book without actually making the students understand. I would advice to be regular in class and always stay in touch with the syllabus. The study during engineering is comparatively easier than that during JEE and so one can easily cope up.
DTU is not just great in terms of academics or placements, but the fests and societies also help a student to develop as an individual. It makes you a much better person rather than just a bookish engineer.

DTU offers a four-year BDes course in the domain of design as a part of it's UG programme. The university offers online application on its official portal. All MBA aspirants seeking admission to Delhi Technological University are required to meet the following eligibility criteria for admission:
- Completed an undergraduate degree with an aggregate ranging between 50% and 60% (for General category students) depending on the course. 10% relaxation in the minimum required aggregate is offered to the students of SC/ ST and PwD category.

DTU Application Process 2026
The application process for all the courses offered via DTU is completely online. Candidates seeking admission must apply via the following websites:
- For BTech, students can apply via the JAC Delhi website, i.e. jacdelhi.nic.in. Registration via JAC Delhi is a two-step online process where students have to fill out the online application form and then make the payment of the application fee. CMAC is the body that decided Delhi Technological University BBA deadline for each year. CMAC registrations are yet to begin thus, it is unknown when BBA deadline has been scheduled for DTU, Delhi. Generally, CMAC ends its registration in second week of July.
An admitted candidate can withdraw his/her admission during the counselling period by submitting online request through JAC Delhi portal on or before last
date of withdrawal mentioned in counselling schedule.
a) If the candidate withdraws his/her admission on or before the last date of counselling schedule, his Seat Acceptance Fee (INR 95,000) will be refunded without interest after deducting INR1000 as processing charge.

DTU offers scholarships and financial assistance to its engineering students based on various criteria. The scholarships are offered to students, who have successfully been admission to DTU.
