IPU MCA Eligibility & Highlights 2024
GGSIPU or IPU offers two-year MCA courses in a full-time mode. MCA course admission is offered based on NIMCET scores. However, if seats remain vacant after counselling based on the merit of NIMCET, IPU considers admission to MCA and MCA (Lateral Entry) programmes based on merit in IPU CET/CUET-PG. MCA is offered by GGSIPU via its 12 affiliated colleges. Moreover, the PG-level course is also offered in the second shift (evening) by a few IPU-affiliated colleges. Candidates seeking admission to MCA at IPU colleges must check the eligibility requirements. The applications of candidates who do not meet the criteria are treated as invalid. As per the IP University 2023 brochure, the duration of all the MCA courses is two-year. The course is further divided into semester pattern. There are four semesters during the course. The syllabus might also be defined semester-wise. Candidates have to pass all the semester exams in order to get a MCA degree from IPU.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprasth University admits to BTech, Integrated BTech and other courses based on the exam of JEE Main. The university publishes its cutoff in the form of their affiliated colleges, including Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology and Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology. GGSIPU JEE Main cutoff 2024 was also finalised where cutoff was announced depending on course specialisation.
Aspirants are offered admission in MCA and MCA (Software Engineering) based on NIMCET, CET or CUET scores. GGSIPU considers NIMCET scores for first level of selection. GGSIPU admission to the MCA course is offered based on merit in NIMCET/CUET-PG/IPU CET. Aspirants need to have a valid score in either of the accepted exams.You are advised to check the minimum qualification required. The step-by-step process is explained below:
1. GGSIPU MCA Application Process 2025
- The application procedure is carried out via online mode. Candidates are advised to check out the eligibility criteria for IP University MCA before registration. The step-wise IP University application process is below:
- Visit the official website of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (www.ipu.ac.in) and click on the 'Admission' tab and further click on 'Online Admission Form' from the drag-down menu.
- Read the instructions carefully, accept the declaration and click on 'Start' to proceed with the registration step of the application process.
- Select MCA from the programme drop-down menu and register with the candidate's name, email ID and contact number. Further, click on 'Non-CET' courses because MCA comes under the 'Non-CET' category courses.
- Candidates will receive an application sequence number, user ID and password for future logins and a link to the application form to proceed with further steps.
- In the first stage of the application form, enter personal details, such as name, parents' name, age, nationality, etc. Also, enter the present address information along with the permanent address.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University's annual hostel cost is INR 29,500. Mess and welfare fees are not included in the hostel fees. The fee for the mess is INR 36,000, while the cost of the welfare is INR 3,000. Candidates need to submit three demand drafts: one for hostel fees, one for mess charges, and one for welfare charges. Two hostels are maintained on campus for male students, and two are maintained for female students. There are more than 180 single-seat rooms in each hostel. Basic furnishings such as a cot, mattress, pillow, chair, table, cupboard, tube lamp, and fan are provided in each room. Mess facilities are available for residents in each hostel. Residents also have access to a common area, a gym, a reading room, and sports facilities. For the hostels, there is a provision for 24-hour water and electrical services.
For Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University MCA admission, candidates need to appear for the NIMCET entrance test. IP University MCA (lateral) entry admission is based on the IPU CET entrance test. In case of vacant seats after counselling, GGSIPU will consider Common Entrance Test (CET), conducted by GGSIP University for MCA admission. Candidates can fill out the accepted exams form through the official website of the conducting bodies.
Furthermore, eligible candidates have to go to thr IPU official website to register and fill out the application form. All the details in the online application should be filled out as per the official documents. Also, application must be submitted within the prescribed due date.

To get IPU (main campus- USLLS and VIPS) you need to have a total score of atleast 470 out of 650. And admission in IPU through cuet happens only after the CLAT rounds are over, so you must wait till the spot rounds.
