IIT Bombay offers admission to MSc course based on IIT JAM score followed by CCMN Counselling. The seat allotment is carried out based on document verification, seat intake, and category of the students, during the counselling. Besides, candidates with a valid bachelor’s degree issued by a recognised university are eligible for admission to the PG course.

As per IIT Bombay cut off 2023 for JAM 2023 Fourth Admission List, the opening and closing ranks for MSc Applied Geology are 1 and 18, respectively. Also, for MSc Chemistry, the opening and closing ranks stood at 1 and 25, respectively. Yes, IIT Bombay offers MSc for two-years. The PG-level course is available in seven specialisations, including Chemistry, Biotechnology, Applied Geology, Applied Geophysics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Statistics & Informatics. Moreover, the institute also offers MSc + PhD (dual degree) course in three specialisations including Environmental Science & Engineering, Operations Research, Energy Science & Engineering.

The institute offers Merit-cum-Means Scholarship to a maximum of 25% of the sanctioned intake of UG and MSc students. Facilities of Free Messing is also available to SC/ ST students under which they get an exemption from paying the tuition fees. In addition, the Office of the Dean Alumni & Corporate Relations manages the Named scholarship endowed by the alumni of the Institute and other wellwishers.
