Q: Does passing UCEED 2023 guarantee BDes admission to IIT Delhi?

Students seeking admission to BDes course (Bachelor of Design) at IIT Delhi are required to sit for UCEED exam 2023. UCEED releases qualifying cutoff in the form of mean deviation and standard deviation. Appearing in UCEED 2023 or being on the admission rank list does not guarantee admission to IIT Delhi BDes courses. Candidates who have passed UCEED 2023 must apply separately to the UCEED participating institute for BDes admission. Apart from passing the UCEED exam, the candidates are required to fulfil the eligibility criteria, category certificates and other documents, as well as the UCEED score, to be verified by IIT Delhi.

With a UCCED cutoff rank of 30, it is very difficult for students belonging to the OBC AI quota to secure a seat at IIT Delhi for admission to the B.Des course. The cutoff ranks vary for each round and category. UCEED Round 1 closing ranks over three years for B.Des at IIT Delhi ranged between 20 and 26 for the OBC category candidates. Therefore, it is not possible for students to gain admission during Round 1 with a rank of 30. IIT Delhi cutoff 2024 for the BDes course is based on the applicant's UCCED scores followed by the UCEED Counselling. The last-round closing rank for the General AI category was 35. IIT Delhi BDes is a four-year full-time programme offered at the undergraduate level via its Institute’s Department of Design. IIT Delhi BDes admission is based on candidates' performance in UCCED. Given below is the minimum eligibility criteria and seat intake for the IIT Delhi BDes course:
