NIT Rourkela College Review.

Placements: In my M.Sc. Batch, everyone who applied got placed, but many students prefer to go for PhDs. A 2-month internship is mandatory, so all students get internships in companies or IITs. There are things to be considered before you take this course in college.

Infrastructure: Our course gets a lot of support from the available facilities. We have a central library, Wi-Fi, and digital classrooms, which really help. The hostels are quite good, and the food, whether from the mess or the canteen, tastes nice. Plus, there is a multi-sports complex too.

Faculty: The faculty, staff, and teachers play a very important role in helping students learn. They are not just helpful but very supportive, and they try their best to provide a good education. Their teaching style prepares students well for industry needs. Overall, the campus experience was good and nice.

Journey to become a NIT student.

Placements: In M.Sc. in Physics, placements are average and the placement percentage is 90%. The average package is 8 LPA in M.Sc. It is one of the reputed colleges. If we maintain our CGPA we will definitely get very good placements without any doubt but we need to crack tests and other rounds followed after that. In 3rd year, one should get internships on-campus that will too play a major role in their placements.

Infrastructure: My hostel is the biggest hostel of my college. The menu is very nice and the food quality is very good. Hostel rooms are also good. There are playgrounds inside the hostel campus also. If we are from other cities then we have to stay in the hostel compulsorily but for home city students can do day boarding. This institute is surrounded by trees, mountains, and ponds. There is good infrastructure in our institute. Our institute has all the facilities on the premises for the benefit of students. There are good roads, playgrounds, and a swimming pool.

Faculty: Faculty members at NIT Rourkela are very supportive and experienced. They are very well-educated from top universities in India and foreign too. Most of them prefer to teach on smart boards with projectors. Problem-solving abilities of faculty members are excellent. I have many good memories with professors like asking doubts regarding tests and assignments. They helped me to understand the core concept of every single doubt that I asked them in class.

Other: The total fee structure is 1.36 lakhs for the first semester and 1.11 lakhs for the next semesters. It is a lot of amount of money but all colleges in India have the same situation. It is good that college also provides quality education and skills in this much amount.

Strong faculty members and facilities. Good placements at NIT Rourkela.

Placements: NIT Roukela M.Sc. physics placements are very good. The highest package is 14 LPA, median package is 10 LPA, and the average package is 12 LPA. Placement rate is 80-90%. Mostly Ed-Tech analytical roles are offered, and big companies rarely hire M.Sc. graduates.

Infrastructure: Our college has well-equipped labs and 24X7 Wi-Fi facility. Hostels are clean and equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi. The mess food is average but good from many of the messes at the colleges. Sports, medical, and canteen facilities are very good. I will give 4 stars here.

Faculty: Professors are knowledgeable, experienced, and many have PhDs in their field. Teaching is concept-focused. The curriculum is not updated but research-oriented which helps in overall learning and placements. I will say it's industry-ready. The exams are moderately hard.

NIT Rourkela Review 2024.

Placements: All of the students who applied were placed in my batch, as I am from M.Sc. so most of the students opt for Ph.D. instead of placements. We had to do a 2-month internship and it's mandatory so everyone got internships in companies and IITs. The top role is most Ph.D. in prestigious institutions in India.

Infrastructure: The hostels, facilities, and infrastructure are top-notch. Every room has its own LAN connection; hence, the network is very fast. The mess is also good but it depends on the caterers. If they change the caterers, then we might be lucky and get good food, and vice versa .

Faculty: The teachers were somewhat helpful to us regarding our projects and courses. The teaching is somewhat relevant but self-study is also needed, as it would be useless if we fully depended on the teachers. The only courses that I found difficult were QM-1, QM-2 and Nuclear Physics. The pass percentage is always 100%.

Other: The extracurricular activities are good. A swimming pool, a tennis court, a football field, and lots of indoor games. A gym is present in every hostel and there's a central gym as well for everyone to enjoy. There are festivals every semester and I had fun during that time.
