BTech in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2025

Helpful faculty, strong research, good facilities, placements, and higher studies opportunities.
Placements: I believe 90 percent of students are placed. The lowest, average, and highest packages are 3 LPA, 6 LPA, and 15 LPA. Companies include Hyundai, TCS, Ashok Leyland, and others. A high number of students manage to get internships in Caterpillar and similar companies. Top roles are usually in automotive, design, and industrial/production engineering.
Infrastructure: The college has Wi-Fi, both traditional boards and e-boards to demonstrate concepts and videos. The library is filled with books and is exhaustive in quantity. The tables and rooms are refurbished frequently and are comfortable. Windows are open, letting in fresh breeze. The canteen and mess serve top-quality food with high variety. A first aid kit is kept ready in case of emergencies, and the hostel is really nice with AC and single-room options.
Faculty: All professors are masters of their subjects and have a strong research focus. You can see the amount of research they produce if you walk down the hallway of my department. The course is extremely relevant and has ample electives to branch out as you see fit. Semester exams are entirely based on the syllabus, and if the concepts are clear, you do not need to worry. In my section of 64 people, I think everyone has passed.
Other: I study Mechanical Engineering, and I personally feel the course is wonderfully designed. We have ample elective choices, and the department has professors who are extremely helpful. It is an extremely engaging course, and you are introduced to new topics every semester. Do not be fooled by the core tag. My favorite subjects are Additive Manufacturing and Operations Research, which are really interesting. Events and fests are plenty, sports facilities are amazing, and the football field is one of the best in the state. There are many clubs, so do not miss the opportunity.

I got a new family in my college.
Placements: In many departments particularly in mechanical the placement percentage exceeds 90%. The highest package is around 1.17 core per annum and the lowest package falls in the range of 8 to 10 lacs per annum for companies like Range, Caterpillar, etc are hiring our college for placements since I am a second-year student we are not compelled to go for placement we had done lots of projects regarding our course.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available in our college for the mechanical department are very good. The college offers Wi-Fi facilities in classrooms libraries and labs also. They provide labs with essential machines and equipment and safety facilities in our college.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable then we think the faculty obtained their Ph.D. and IITs only. The method of teaching is such a way that all the students can understand the topic. The lab technician makes students more skillful in using machines and equipment so we are the students of industry-ready

I am fully satisfied with the college and its facilities.
Placements: SSN College of Engineering has a 94% placements in Mechanical Engineering and an overall placement of 69%. The college provides placements in many good companies like Caterpillar, TCS, and several core companies such as Elite Woods.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of SSN College of Engineering is so good, with a campus area of 230 acres. The food in the college canteen and hostel mess tastes really good, and the hostel rooms are neatly maintained. The security is very strict.
Faculty: Faculty members at SSN College of Engineering are very friendly and helpful to students. They want their students to achieve top-tier jobs, and the exam question papers are set at a difficult level so that students can tackle and handle all sorts of interview questions.
Other: I chose Mechanical Engineering at SSN College of Engineering because of placements and infrastructure of this college.

Disappointed in placements. The placement centre lies to students.
Placements: The career development center has poor management. They try to push people into call center jobs to increase the placement percentage. In my case, they lived with me and pushed me to a company which only provided an internship but they told me it was a full-time job.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are good. Especially many movies and shoots are held on campus. But again my department's infrastructure is poor which is a 2 to 3 decades old building. Overall, the infrastructure is good and facilities are also good.
Faculty: All professors who are working here completed their Ph.D. They are well-experienced staff. The course curriculum is relevant, especially the syllabus aligns with the GATE and the other exams. The staff are very friendly and helpful when students approach them.
Other: Overall experience in the college is good except for placements. The cultural events and other events like Invente, Instincts, and Lakshaya are good.

Perks of SSN College of Engineering.
Placements: Almost all the students from our department who got placed remaining are doing their higher education. Five of our students got placed in a major core company called Caterpillar, and a few of them made wood. The highest package offered by the core company is 12 LPA, and other companies also recruit from our department, including MotorQ and Amazon. Most of the students try getting internships on their own, and our college CDC makes sure everyone is doing their internship.
Infrastructure: We have a good infrastructure in terms of hostels. We have 9 hostels with different kinds of rooms, and all the hostels are provided with Wi-Fi. There is a hospital inside the campus, and all the hosts can access it without any hesitation. When it comes to mess, we have two kinds of mess. One is called Premium Mess, which serves variety food items, and the other is called Normal Mess; this is the one most of the students are enrolled in. The food dishes served here are minimal, but they almost cover all the required vitamins and minerals. All the mess includes breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. Monthly once we get to have fest.
Faculty: Yes, the faculty members here are just awesome. Every staff member is highly qualified, and most are likely to be involved in publishing papers, and some have their own patent. They often do projects by having their students in their team. Since it's an autonomous college, we have a syllabus that strengthens our base. We have an atmosphere that encourages students to do projects based on their interests. When it comes to semester, it's pretty hard, and it challenges your basic understanding and problem-solving skills. Pass percentages vary based on subjects, and the pass percentage is always way higher than the fail percentage.
Other: I chose mechanical engineering because of my interest in machines, and later it turned towards aeronautical. Mechanical in SSN is good, and staffs are good. The only thing that matters is your interest. We have various events happening around the academic year, and the main is the cultural event called Instincts, which happens for 3 days.

Your highway to heaven !
Placements: Whoever appears for placements gets placed. Several companies come to recruit our students. Right from IT companies to a lot of core companies, and recently, our seniors from the mechanical department got placed at Caterpillar in associate designers and other roles.
Infrastructure: I am a day scholar, but according to my hosteller friends, the hostel rooms are good, but the food from the mess is okay at best. They do provide Wi-Fi, and the students are allowed to use mobile phones in class unless a teacher specifically tells them not to.
Faculty: I can assure you that all the professors are really qualified, as the institutions only hire Ph.D. scholars and seasoned professors who got their degrees from NITs or IITs. Now it is changed to just IITs. Most of the professors are really friendly, especially in the mechanical department.

Our college is a good place to study but it does not provide good placements.
Placements: In mechanical engineering, most students opted for higher studies. Many students are placed. The highest salary package offered was 16 LPA and the lowest salary package offered was 12 LPA. The college provides the contact of companies for internships, and students can get internships based on their interests and contacts.
Infrastructure: Our college provides excellent infrastructure. Wi-Fi is available. It is unlimited, with some restraints on a few websites. Classrooms are provided with adequate fans and digital projectors. Hostels are good.
Faculty: Our teachers are Ph.D. holders. They are knowledgeable and are ready to teach students whenever requested. Our teachers follow the classic teaching methodology, but they show their presentations to students through projectors. The course curriculum is planned by the teacher considering current industrial needs. Semester exams are average.
Other: I chose mechanical because of my interest in making machines and the basic engineering around them. Mechanical engineering is considered one of the courses that can be passed easily, but it is false. Without effort, most students fail the test. Events and competitions could have been more intense. You are given complete freedom to do what you do after class, and you can make the most of it with clubs, projects, sports, etc.

I'm satisfied with this college.
Placements: Placements are going on in our college. Around 80% of students got placed till now. The recruiting companies are Amazon, Comcast, and Hyundai. The roles offered are manager and technical roles. Top recruiting companies are TCS and Infosys.
Infrastructure: Our campus is fully Wi-Fi enabled but it doesn't work at midnight. Medical services are available 24X7. Food served in both the mess and canteen is above average. Some small stores are available on campus. There are restaurants nearby our college that serve tasty and good food. Our college gives importance to sports. Sports facilities are good and all sports are available.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are very good and hold Ph.D.s. They have wide and great knowledge about the subject. They are very lenient and are ready to solve the doubts of students. Our college conducts two internal exams and follows a credit-based marking system. The course curriculum is not big.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest. The best things in our department are faculty members and labs. Classroom ambiance is not good. Many clubs organise many events in our college.

Hello Pratik, Yes, you can. But there are less chances if you go through the TNEA counseling and hence, you need to apply separately, for which you also need to clear an entrance exam. The fee structure would be slightly higher if you go this way.

The complete fees will be around 8-9 LPA for 4 years. The tuition fees for an year will be 1,70,000-1,90,000 and for hostel it will be 50000-60000 . If you require bus fees and not hostels the bus fees will also be around 50000 only. So for 4 years, the fees will be around 8 lakhs.
