VIT Vellore Admission 2026 (Open): Fees, Eligibility, Dates & Selection Process

The institute conducts VITEEE for BTech admission, VITMEE for M.Tech admissions and VITREE for PhD admission. The institute accepts national-level entrance exams like CAT, XAT, MAT, GMAT, CMAT, ATMA, etc., for MBA course. However, admission to a few other courses, including BSc, BSc (Hons), BCA, BCom, MSc, MCA, among others, is based on the aggregate obtained by the candidates in previous qualifying degree/ exam (merit-based). After passing the entrance exam, aspirants are called further rounds of selection. Shortlisted aspirants need to come for counselling and document verification round. 

VIT Vellore offers BDes with a duration of four years. Candidates seeking admission to BDes courses must pass Class 10 and Class 12 from a recognised board. The admission to the BDes course is UCEED entrance-based. Further, VIT conducts VIT-DAT for students who have not attended UCEED exams. Yes, upon the completion of VIT BCom degree, you can apply for MBA (Master of Business Administration). However, it is crucial to learn about the particular requirements and any prerequisites of the MBA course you are interested in before applying. While some MBA programmes may favour candidates with specific undergraduate courses or accomplishments, others may require candidates to have some job experience. A BCom degree provides a strong foundation in business and commerce subjects, which can give you an edge in your MBA studies.

VIT Vellore accepts VITEEE cutoff 2024 was concluded for admission to the BTech specialisations. However, the authorities did not release the VIT Vellore VITEEE 2024 cutoff online, and it was only accessible to candidates who appeared for the entrance exam. VIT Vellore's cut off depends on several factors and will be used in the preparation of the merit list for the counselling and admission process.

Students with 65-75 marks out of 120 will have a fair chance of getting admissions through VITEEE 2023. The cutoff for admissions will be prepared based on various factors related to the entrance exam. However, it is to be noted that only those candidates who secure a rank of up to 1 Lacs will be eligible for admissions into VIT Vellore and Chennai campuses. Those students with a rank above 1 Lacs will be able to apply for admissions into the VIT Andhra Pradesh and Bhopal campuses.

Candidates need to hold below documents when applying for VIT Vellore BDes programme:

• Age proof certificate/ Aadhaar Card
• Class 12 hall ticket (for result awaited candidates)
• Class 12 mark sheet
• Valid scorecard of UCEED (if applicable)

 

Vellore Institute of Technology offers scholarships in the form of tuition waivers and freeships.  In addition, scholarships are given to students who excel in sports and games. Financial assistance is also provided to students who wish to do their project work in partner universities and institutions abroad, under the Semester Abroad Programme (SAP). Eligible students with meritorious records in State/ Central board examinations or VITEEE rank holders will need to present marksheet/ copy of marksheet or VITEEE scorecard along with all the other relevant documents while applying.  

VIT Vellore offers scholarships in the form of tuition waivers and freeships. While merit scholarships are awarded to class toppers, economically challenged students are provided need-based financial assistance. Furthermore, NRI and foreign students are given scholarships upon presenting meritorious records. Students from rural backgrounds who secure top ranks in VITEEE at the district level (in Tamil Nadu only) are given free education. Check below the detail for some of the scholarships:
