The academic experience is a bit of a both positive and negative. The faculty pool is constantly changing, with some professors being highly dedicated and experienced, while others seem less engaged. The syllabus is often incomplete, leaving students to independently cover the remaining portion through group projects and self-study.

My KCET Success Story: From Rank to Admission

Firstly, the admission process was smooth in the results I got 17585th rank in Karnataka Common Entrance Test. I applied for counselling process to get Engineering college. There were, three rounds of counselling throughout the college allotment process. I got DR Ambedkar Institute of Technology, which was my dream college, in first round itself. So, I instantly paid fees to secure my admission.

Commonly asked questions
Q:   What is unique about Dr. Ambedkar Institute Of Technology (AIT), Bangalore?
A:
Dr. AIT has few unique features compared with other colleges around Bangalore. It has a very peaceful campus with greenery all around. Also, the campus is well maintained giving a wonderful environment for the wonderful learning experience. The library itself has a separate building with 1000+ books and also access to digital library, helping students to access books of various genres. Apart from this it has very well qualified teachers.
Q:   How is Dr. Ambedkar Institute Of Technology (AIT), Bangalore ?
A:
Dr. Ambedkar Institute of technology is an average college to pursue your engineering. If you are a good student with good aim and goals, then this college is definitely good for you. They offer various areas of improvement in life and an overall development of a student. The faculty people is friendly and encouraging in nature.
Q:   How is mess food at Dr. Ambedkar Institute Of Technology (AIT), Bangalore?
A:
Mess food in the hostels of Dr. Ambedkar Institute of technology is not up to the mark. If you already have an experience of living in an hostel, then you may know how the hostel foods would be. Otherwise, you have to adjust. It's quite average and adjustable. They offer three times food which is self served by students and they offer coffee/tea/milk as well.

College Hostel Life

My college journey was a mixed bag of experiences, marked by both strengths and shortcomings. The campus, though showing signs of age, offers decent hostel facilities with clean rooms and adequate security. I didn’t stay in college hostel. But, according to some of my friends, the food quality and taste are good. There are two mess,
1. North mess
2. South mess
The fees for North mess is INR 4,000 to 5,000 more than the South mess. Both provide unlimited food for students. Talking about security and restrictions, there are nearly 34 security guards at both hostel gates. So, it’s nearly impossible to enter hostel without hostel ID card. The hostel gate closes at 10 PM, and nobody can enter hostel after that.

Lessons in KCET Syllabus

The academic experience is both positive and negative. The faculty pool is constantly changing, with some professors being highly dedicated and experienced, while others seem less engaged. The syllabus is often incomplete, leaving students to cover the remaining portion through group projects and selfstudy. They basically tell us to create groups of 45 members and make PPT presentation on specific topics. Nearly 60 to 70% of syllabus is completed by them, remaining is allotted to students as group activity presentation.

We had to do last 12 units of syllabus by ourselves. This helped me in gaining confidence, overcoming stage fear, and communicating clearly without any fears. This approach, while fostering selfreliance, can be challenging for students who may require more structured guidance.

Apart from Academics

The best part is that the college provides a great campus environment. The annual fests, Kannada Kalarava and Sanskruti, along with branchspecific events, provide opportunities for students to showcase their talents and bond with others. The formation of new clubs further enriches extracurricular scene, encouraging participation in various activities such as dance, sports, and cultural events.

I had great memories being promotional and marketing team lead at Electrotech fest, our branch fest, which helped me to solve problems in real life and gain leadership experiences.

Effect of Pandemic on Placements

When it comes to placements, college has a decent track record, regular recruiters like TCS and Wipro visit the college. However, this us just my suggestion that the overall quality and quantity of companies could be improved.

While highest package offered is nearly INR 22 LPA in 2022, the lowest end of spectrum is 2.5 LPA. Due to recession during COVID, most companies that were visiting our college for placements every year didn’t come in the last year. The ones that attended the placements drive were sales companies. They offered roles such as customer executive, sales, etc., positions for Engineering graduate. Due to this, my seniors had to face many problems.

Growth

Overall, my college experience has been a learning experience, shaping my skills and perspectives, and preparing me for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. While the challenges have been real, they have also been opportunities for growth and development. I have learned to adapt to change, to work independently, and to collaborate with others. I have also learned the importance of time management, stress management, and selfcare.
As I look back on my college years, I am grateful for the experiences I have had. I have met some amazing people, learned a lot about myself, and grown as a person. I am confident that the skills and knowledge I have gained will serve me well in the future.
