IPMAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria

- Students should have scored a minimum of 60% aggregate in Class 10 and Class 12 or equivalent CGPA in the case of the General and NC OBC categories.
- Students belonging to SC, ST or PwD (DA) categories must have secured at least 55% aggregate or equivalent CGPA in Class 10 and Class 12.
- Students must have passed the qualifying exam in the years 2024, 2025 or appearing in 2026.
- Students in the final year of Class 12 or awaiting the results are also eligible to apply provisionally.

IPMAT Selection Procedure 2026
The IPMAT selection process includes various stages such as application form filing, IPMAT entrance, shortlisting of students through a Personal Interview, and final merit list. IPM is a dual degree programme where the students are provided with a Bachelor of Arts (Foundations of Management) and a Master of Business Administration by IIM Indore at the end of the course. Students will be awarded a Bachelor of Arts (Foundations of Management) and a Master of Business Administration (Business Analytics) after the programme.
IPMAT 2026 Application Process
Students who wish to take admission to IIM Indore for IPM programme need to fill the IPMAT application form 2026. The IPMAT application fee is INR 4130 for General category students and INR 2065 for reserved category students. The application form and fee are to be submitted online on IIM Indore website. The IPMAT form will be released on February 2, 2026. The form will be available at iimidr.ac.in till March 14, 2026.
IPMAT 2026 Exam
Students need to appear for the IPMAT exam in order to be eligible for the IPMAT admission and selection process. The IPMAT 2026 exam will be conducted on May 4, 2026, in the CBT test mode. Yes, there is maximum age limit to appear for the IPMAT exam. The students appearing for the IPMAT exam must be a maximum of 20 years of age as of July 31, of the given year. The IPMAT exam is open to students who have recently passed Class 12 or are still awating the Class 12 results. IPMAT is conducted by IIM Indore and is accepted by some of the top institutes such as IIM Indore, IIFT, Nirma University, IIM Ranchi, Alliance University, NICMAR and NALSAR University. Any candidate who has scored a minimum of 60% aggregate in Class 10/SSC and Class 12/ HSC or equivalent examination in the case of the General and NC-OBC categories is eligible to apply for the IPMAT exam.
The attempts at IPMAT Indore depend on the age criteria of the candidate. The eligibility criteria in terms of age for this entrance is that the candidate should be a maximum of 20 years of age as of July 31, 2026, (for IPMAT Indore 2026) if you belong to the General, OBC or EWS category. Whereas there is 5-year relaxation for SC, ST and PWD candidates.
The IPMAT exam is conducted only once a year, and the candidates must aim to crack the exam on the first attempt. However, if they did not score well in the first attempt and their eligibility is still valid for the next year, then the students can definitely give a second try at the exam.
IPMAT Provisional Merit List or IPMAT Result
The exam conducting authority, IIM Indore, releases the IPMAT result as a provisional merit list (based on the scores obtained by the students in the IPMAT exam) of the students selected for the next round of the IPMAT selection process. The authorities decide a minimum IPMAT cutoff based on the categories.

Personal Interview
The students who match the IPMAT cutoff will be eligible to appear for the Personal Interview (PI). Candidates have to match the sectional and overall cutoff decided by the exam authorities to appear for the PI.
Final Merit List and Selection
Based on the scores obtained by the students in the IPMAT entrance exam and Personal Interview, the exam conducting authorities release the final merit list of the students who are eligible to secure a seat in the prestigious IIM Indore. The final IIM Indore IPM selection criteria for candidates will be based on the Composite Scores (CS) computed as:

IIM Indore Seat Intake for IPMAT 2026
According ot IPMAT seat matrix 2026 and reservation policy, 150 seats are reserved for domestic students at IIM Indore for admission to the five-year integrated programme in management (IPM) through IPMAT. Yes, a 17 year old can give the IPMAT exam. The maximum age limit to be eligible to appear for the IPMAT Indore exam is 20 years as on July 31, of the given year. There is a relaxation in the age limit for the reserved category students. The candidates belonging to the General or NC-OBC category must be a maximum of 20 years and the students belonging to other reserved categories can be a maximum of 22 years in the admission year.
Including this, the students should also fulfil the academic IPMAT eligibility criteria to be able to take the IPMAT exam and IPM Admissions.
Even if the candidate clears the sectional and overall cutoff in IPMAT exam but does not get shortlisted for the PI round, it means that the candidate is eligible but not among the top-ranked candidates based on the composite score. Such a candidate will not be considered for admission to the IPM programme.
Such candidates can opt for reappearing for the exam next year, as there is no provision of re-evaluation. Candidates can also consider applying to other institutes which accept IPMAT Indore scores, such as NIRMA University, TAPMI, etc.

Difficulty of IPMAT maths questions is generally based on Class 9 to 12 level. The QA section focuses on application based questions. Mostly questions are from Class 11 and Class 12 level such as Algebra, Matricies, etc.

No, IPMAT is conducted only once a year. Candidates have to wait for the next session if they miss this year's exam. The IPMAT exam is being conducted in the CBT (computer-based test) mode. Based on the IPM Aptitude Test scores, students can apply for admission to integrated management programme offered by the prestigious Indian Institute of Managment, Indore. The exam will only be conducted in the computer-based test mode for all the sessions across various cities.
