Shiksha visited a SET test centre to know the SET exam 2025 students’ reactions and reviews. According to the students we spoke to, the SET question paper was easy to moderate in terms of the difficulty level, and students were able to complete the exam in the given time. Most of the students found the QA section difficult. Quantitative Aptitude questions were moderate and GK was easy in the SET exam 2025. Read below and watch the video for students’ reactions and reviews of the SET 2025 exam (test 02).

Q:   What is the marking scheme of SET test?
A:
SET has a total of 60 questions. The General English Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness sections carry 16 questions and the Analytical and Logical Reasoning section carries 12 questions. For each correct attempt, one mark is awarded and one mark is deducted for an incorrect attempt. There is no deduction of marks for unanswered questions. Therefore, the total marks of SET is 60. The sectional marking scheme for SET is given below: 1. General English 16 2. Analytical and Logical Reasoning: 12 3. Quantitative Ability: 16 4. General Knowledge: 16 Candidates must choose the questions to solve very carefully and smartly as they will not be awarded marks for incorrect answers. If they are not sure of the correct answer, they should leave the question instead of taking a chance.
Q:   Which section of the SET exam has the least weightage?
A:

Three out of the four sections of the SET exam namely, General English, Quantitative Aptitude and General Knowledge, have equal weightage. Each question carries one mark for correct attempt. There is neither a negative marking for incorrectly marked answers nor there is marks deduction for unanswered question. The last section of the SET exam, i.e. Analytical and Logical Reasoning carries the least weightage. There are only 12 questions in this section which carry one mark each. The marking scheme of all the four sections is the same. Given below is the sectional weightage of SET exam.

  1. General English: 16 questions, 16 marks
  2. General Knowledge: 16 questions, 16 marks
  3. Quantitative Aptitude: 16 questions, 16 marks
  4. Analytical and Logical Reasoning: 12 questions, 12 marks

One should prepare well for all the sections of the SET exam. If you will score equally well in every section, only then will your overall score will be good. Also, many colleges consider sectional scores as well for admission shortlist so it is important to perform equally well in all sections of SET.

Q:   Is there negative marking in the SET exam?
A:

No, the SET exam does not have negative markings. Each question in the SET exam carries one mark and if the answer is incorrect no marks will be awarded for that particular question. This means that if the candidate has four incorrect answers, then four marks will be deducted from the SET overall score. If the candidate marks more than one answer for a particular question, the answer will be considered incorrect. To avoid maximum marks deduction, students must attempt the easier question first and then move on to the more difficult ones in that particular section. If the candidate is unsure about a particular question, they can also skip the question. No marks will be deducted or awarded for unanswered questions.

Anshul: The overall difficulty level of the SET exam was moderate. Quantitative Aptitude was easy to moderate. General English and GK sections were easy. LR was the easiest as usual. There were questions on Averages, Percentages and Ratios mainly inthe  Quant section. This was my first attempt, as I also appeared for IPMAT Rohtak.

Manish: The difficulty level of the test 02 SET was easy to moderate. I attempted all the questions of the SET question paper. For me, the easiest section was LR and the toughest was QA. No particular topic dominated the section. All topics were evenly distributed. To prepare for the SET exam, my strategy was to cover the complete SET exam syllabus

Bhavishya: The SET exam 2025 was easy and was at par with the SET syllabus. According to me, the QA section was the most difficult. There were no surprise questions. I referred to the previous years’ question papers to practice for my SET exam. It was easier as compared to the previous years’ SET question papers.

Ishaant: The paper was easy. I attempted all 60 questions as there was no negative marking. For me, the Quant section was the toughest, GK was moderate, and the easiest was Logical Reasoning. The exam pattern was the same as the SET mock tests. My SET preparation strategy was to attempt the mock tests.

Q:   What is the syllabus & exam pattern of the SET ? What should my preparation strategy be?
A:

The SET BBA question paper is divided into four sections, I. e. General English Quantitative Aptitude Logical Reasoning and General Awareness. SET exam is conducted in the computer-based test mode and the duration of the exam is one hour. Each section has multiple-choice questions. Every question carries one mark and there is no negative marking. The total number of questions is 60. The Analytical and Logical Reasoning section has 12 questions and the rest of the sections have 16 questions each. For the Logical and Analytical Reasoning section, practice is the only way to score well in this section. Going through the past year question papers will give you an idea about what to expect and an insight into the difficulty level. To prepare for the General English section, read and practice a lot of comprehension passages, and work on vocabulary and grammar. For the General Awareness section, read newspapers and magazines to know the Current Affairs, the latest trends, history, and geography. You can also refer to books for static GK. For SET preparation, go through at least the previous five years papers to get used to the paper pattern and understand the difficulty level. The next step would be to capitalise on your strengths and work on your weaknesses. While giving the exam, focus on the sections that you are best prepared for.

Q:   How many sections does the SET BBA exam have?
A:
The SET question paper is divided into four sections, I. e, Analytical and Logical Reasoning, General English Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness. All the sections carry multiple-choice questions and each question carries one mark. There is no negative marking in the SET exam but the students have to complete the exam within one hour. Given below is the number of questions in each section: General English- 16 Quantitative Aptitude- 16 General Knowledge- 16 Analytical and Logical Reasoning- 12 There is a total of 60 questions in the SET question paper which are divided across these four sections.

Sameer: I would say that the SET exam test 02 was easy to moderate. The QA section was lengthy, according to me, and it was also the toughest. The SET exam was at par with the SET mock tests and previous years’ question papers. But, I think the General English paper had different types of questions as compared to previous years. There were no questions on word meanings, synonyms and antonyms.
