How to Prepare for SET 2026 Logical and Analytical Reasoning

To prepare for this section of the SET exam 2026, students should work on basics and know the concepts such as syllogisms, analogies, coding and decoding, direction sense, etc. Knowing these concepts is important to solve complex reasoning questions. To score well students should focus on rigorous preparation and constant practice along with time management and best books for SET exam 2026. Read here best preparation tips for Logical Reasoning section of SET 2026 exam:

  • Practicing as much as possible will polish skills and help one score better in the SET exam. Look for an explanation as to why a particular option is correct and the rest are incorrect. This is what reasoning is all about. If you reach the bottom of it, you can solve any LR question easily.

  • Before starting to prepare for the Logical Reasoning section, candidates must understand the type of questions that will be asked in this section. For this, they must refer to the SET previous years' question papers. Practicing more will help students discover tricks and shortcuts that can be used to solve the questions easily and quickly.

  • It is also important to get hold of the right set of books for the logical reasoning section. There are several books available in the market both online and offline, which give a detailed and descriptive idea about the topics, strategy to solve the questions, and practice materials. Getting the right books will help the students in preparing better and more effectively.

  • Try and draw rough diagrams or grids or tables to understand the question with the data given in the question. Experts suggest that visual aids help in solving a particular question in a better way.

  • Develop a skill of thinking critically and logically. The questions in this section are based on, as the name goes, logical reasoning. Break down the questions into a logical flow and a series of events. Simplify them and then analyse each event and look at them critically and eventually solve them.

  • On D-day, try to read each question twice at a normal speed to find out important and/or hidden data.

IPMAT is usually considered a bit more difficult than SET, as IPMAT exam has advanced mathematics and is calculation intensive. The exam also have a sectional time limit. But, SET is easier in terms of difficulty, does not have negative marking or sectional timings.
