IIT Guwahati Cutoff 2025: Check Category-wise JEE Advanced Cutoff Rank

IIT Guwahati offers admission to various UG and PG course specialisations based on different national-level exams. For instance, BTech admission is based on JEE Advanced ranks. For BDes admission, UCEED ranks are considered. For MSc admission, the institute considers IIT JAM scores. The cutoff for these exams is released based on categories. 

Given below are the last round cutoff range for various exams accepted by the institute concerning the General AI category:

JEE Main cutoff range - 792-10727

IIT JAM cutoff range - 61-268

UCEED cutoff - 96

Admission to M.Tech at IITG is entirely based on GATE score. Candidates with a GATE rank between 600 and 800 and a score between 400 and 800 will have a good chance for getting admitted in an MTech course at IITG. However, as the cutoff marks change for every admission year, hence, the number can vary. A relaxation in the required cutoff is given to the candidates belonging to reserved categories.

Candidates with BTech or BE/ MCA/ MSc/ Graduation (AMIETE) with 60% aggregate or 6.0 CPI are eligible for the M.Tech in IIT Guwahati. Further, there is 0.5% CPI or 5% marks relaxation for SC/ST/PwD category candidates. Candidates must also have valid score in the national level exam GATE exam and they must also participated in the COAP Counselling (GATE not required for the sponsored category).

For the SC category students under the AI quota, the JEE Advanced Round 1 cutoff 2026 ranged from 1191 to 1948, including BTech core branches, such as Civil, Chemical and Mechanical Engineering. Considering the first round cutoff, candidates are advised to target a lower cutoff than the one mentioned here to get admission to BTech core branches at IIT Guwahati. Whether 50 in UCEED a good rank for IIT Guwahati depends on the category the student belongs to. For students belonging to the General AI category, the cutoff rank in round 1 was 77. Therefore, attaing a rank of 50 can secure a seat at the college, for the General AI category candidates. Among the OBC AI category students, the cutoff rank was closed at 44. Thus, for the OBC AI category candidates, it is not possible to get a seat at the college with 50 rank in UCEED. Similarly, for other categories also, it is difficult as the rank required is quite lower. 

You need to score a rank of at least 77, according to the IIT Guwahati UCEED cutoff 2026 for the third round. This is the cutoff for the General AI category.

For the OBC categor candidates, the JEE Advanced 2026 cutoff for IIT Guwahati ranged from 383 to 3493 under the AI quota. So, to get a seat in the first round, candidates must target a maximum cutoff rank of up to 3493 for BTech admission. To get admission at IIT Guwahati for the MSc course, General AI category students need to attain a rank of at least 295, based on the round 1 cutoff of IIT Guwahati JAM cutoff 2026. For this category, the round 1 cutoff ranged from 89 to 295. A rank less than 295 would increase your chances of admission at this institution.

Opening and closing ranks for the IIT Guwahati cutoff depend on the category and quota of candidates. For the general category under All India, the opening and closing ranks for the CSE first-round admission 2026 were 277 and 582, respectively. For female-only (including Supernumerary) candidates, the first round opening and closing ranks were 1284 and 1962, respectively. 

In order to get admission in IIT Guwahati for BTech course, the student need to provide valid JEE Main score.  Admission to BTech at IIT Guwahati is purely based on the score obtained by the candidates in the entrance exam followed by JoSAA counselling.
