Indian Institute of Technology History:

Established with the idea to cater to the post-war industrial development in India. In 1950, the first Indian Institute of Technology was established in May 1950, Kharagpur.
From 1959-1960, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras was established.
Approved by the cabinet and announced by the Minister of Human Resource Development, establishment of 8 more IITs was approved on March 28, 2008.
In 2008 IIT Bhubaneshwar, IIT Gandhinagar, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Jodhpur (earlier called IIT Rajasthan), IIT Patna and IIT Ropar was established. In 2009, IIT Mandi and IIT Indore was established.
Eventually, IIT became a brand name, contributing to the national development and IIT Jodhpur became just another milestone.

IIT Jodhpur Admission Process and Important Dates 2025

IIT Jodhpur is an entrance test based institution. The IIT Jodhpur admissions are done on online basis. The IIT Jodhpur application form should be completed by the candidates prior to the due date. The JEE Main, JEE Advanced, GATE, CAT, and IIT JAM are the IIT Jodhpur entrance exams.

IIT Jodhpur uses the JEE Advanced scores to accept their BTech programme, and then the JoSAA counselling. Students need to write the JEE Main exam and obtain the minimum percentage in order to pass the JEE Advanced exam. Admission to IIT Jodhura MBA is done on the basis of CAT scores and then PI round is conducted. Successful shortlisted candidates are required to pay the fees and secure the seat in order to be admitted finally.
