The National Institute of Design (NID) conducted NID DAT 2025 exam on January 5 (10 am - 1 pm). - Reaction 1 - One of the students shared that each question in NID DAT was divided into multiple parts. He also mentioned that this was his first attempt at the NID DAT for B.Des program.
- Reaction 2 - Another student shared that the paper was quite good, and he attempted every question. While he found the exam manageable and not overly difficult, he admitted struggling with the drawing section. However, he completed the logic and reasoning section. According to him, the paper was fairly lengthy, with only a few math related questions but some logo-based questions as well.
- Reaction 3 - Another first time NID DAT candidate described the paper as moderate in difficulty. She mentioned that the questions included tasks related to posters and scenes, requiring candidates to explain specific situations. According to her, the overall difficulty level was easy, but she was unable to attempt one question.
- Reaction 4 - Another student described the paper as moderately difficult and shared that he had prepared by practicing previous years' NID DAT question papers. He also discussed the drawing section, mentioning that one of the questions required candidates to design a game based on a given paragraph.

NID Entrance Exam is considered to be one of the toughest design entrance exam conducted in the country. In NID DAT, more weightage is given to subjective, drawing related questions. Thus, candidates need to be extremely creative and have a clear understanding of their concepts when appearing for the NID exam. In NID DAT for the B. Des programme, the that Prelims carried 40% weightage, while that Mains carried 60% weightage. During the that Mains, which comprises a Studio Test, the candidate will be tested hand-on and have to show their drawing abilities, creativity, innovativeness, and material-handling ability.

Note that the final results of NID DAT 2025 will be declared by considering the performance of the candidate in the DAT Prelims and DAT Mains exams.
Candidates who qualify in the DAT Prelims exam are eligible to appear in DAT Mains.
The NID DAT 2025 topper list will include the names of candidates who have topped the exam. The list will include the merit rank and ranks of the toppers.

The NID Entrance Exam is considered to be one of the toughest design entrance exam conducted in the country. In NID DAT, more weightage is given to subjective, drawing related questions. For preparing the final results for the B. Des program, the DAT Prelims will be allocated 40% weightage, while DAT Mains will be given 60%.

It is not mandatory to take coaching to get a good rank in NID DAT. It is because the entrance exam will test the creative, drawing, and innovative skills of the candidate. Now, a coaching institute cannot exactly teach you to be creative or become innovative. Instead, with a little effort these skills can learn these skills yourself. Also, a major thrust of the design aptitude test is to evaluate the drawing skills of the candidate. So, make it a point to work on your design skills, including learning how to draw lines, shadow, figure, gesture, cartoon drawing, etc. When practicing drawing, also keep a tab on the drawing speed, as it will help you complete the paper in the allotted time.
Candidates are advised to be thorough in their preparation when they plan to appear for NID DAT. Being regular in studies is a must when appearing for NID Entrance Exam. Declaration of DAT Prelims results
The National Institute of Design will declare the result of the NID DAT 2025 (Prelims) exam on April 1 (B.Des) and February 17 (M.Des).

NID evaluates aspirants based on their knowledge, creativity and aptitude for design. Experts share that NID is one of the most challenging design entrance exams conducted in the country. However, if prepared well, the difficulty level of NID Entrance Exam is medium. On of the main reasons why NID is such a competitive exam is there are very limited number of seats.
