NIFT City Intimation Slip is released by the NTA. Candidates can download the intimation slip using their application number and date of birth. The city intimation slip will inform candidates about the exam city allocated to the candidate. However, it will not contain the name of the specific exam center allocated to the candidate. This information will be provided in the NIFT admit card 2026.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the city intimation slip for NIFTEE Stage 1 in the last week of January 2026. The intimation slip will be released online at - exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT. The direct link to download the NIFT city intimation slip is provided below. To download the slip, enter your application number and date of birth. It will be released for all candidates who duly fill out the NIFT 2026 application form

The intimation slip will contain the name of the exam city allocated to the candidate. Note that requests for a change in the NIFT 2026 exam city will not be entertained. The NIFT 2026 Admit Cards will be released soon after the city slip is released. NTA is expected to conduct the NIFT 2026 written exams in the second week of February 2026.

Q:   When do I need to start my preparation for NIFT 2026 exam?
A:

The NIFT exam is among the competitive and is also considered among the toughest. So, it is recommended that the candidate starts their exam preparation early. NIFT exam has various components like written exam and Situation Test /Personal Interview. Candidates seeking admission to the B. Des and M.Des courses need to prepare for both the CAT and GAT. The CAT is a drawing-based exam. Now unless the candidate is already well-versed, the exam will be very difficult. So, start early. The same goes for the GAT.

Q:   What details will be evaluated during the NIFT Situation Test?
A:

NIFT situation test will evaluate the candidate on Colour scheme, Space visualization, Construction skill, Finesse of the model, Composition of elements, Overall presentation, Innovative and creative use of given material, etc. The Situation Test will be evaluated on the spot. Also, the model made by the candidate will not be preserved for future reference. The candidate must make sure that their model is unique and stands out from the crowd. After making the model, the candidate must make a write-up explaining the model.

Q:   What materials can be used for making the model during NIFT Situation Test?
A:

Candidates will be provided with the items for making the model during the NIFT Situation Test. Materials that students may be provided with are Glaze Papers, Plasticine Clay, Copper Wire, Ivory Sheets, Cardboard, Thermocol (thick And Thin), Kite Papers, Handmade Sheet, Coloured Clay, Cellophane, Fabric, Thread, Ribbon, Straw, Aluminum Foil, etc. The candidate can not use any other items except the ones provided in the exam hall.

City Intimation Slip for Stage 2 Examination 2026

The National Testing Agency (NTA) also releases the City Intimation Slip for the Stage 2 Examination of NIFTEE 2026 in the last week of May (tentative). This examination is for shortlisted candidates applying to various Undergraduate programmes offered by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). Candidates can now download their City Intimation Slip by logging in with their Application Number and Date of Birth on the official website: exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT/.

Students should keep in mind that this is not the Admit Card. The City Intimation Slip only informs candidates about the city where their Stage 2 examination will be conducted to help them plan travel in advance. 

Process to Download NIFT 2025 City Intimation Slip 

The NIFTEE intimation slip will be released online at the NTA website. To  download the exam city slip, follow these steps

  1. Go to the NIFT NTA website.
  2. If the NIFT 2026 Advance City Intimation Slip: Stage 1 is OUT, the download link will be activated
  3. Click on the download link
  4. In the log-in window that opens, enter your application number and date of birth
  5. The City Intimation slip: Stage 1 will be displayed on the screen
  6. Download and take a printout 
  7. The NIFT 2026 exam city slip will contain details like the name of the city allotted to the candidate and the exam date.

Yes, the admit card (stamped and duly signed at the exam centre) may be required even after the exam is over. So, it must be preserved.

Update on NIFT 2026 Admit Card 

Some candidates may be wondering whether the admit card will be released alongside the city intimation slip. The admit card for NIFT 2025 will be released after the intimation slip. Importantly, the candidate needs the admit card to take the NIFT 2026 exam. The intimation slip can't be used as an entry pass. This is because the intimation slip merely lets the candidate know about the exam city they have been allocated.

Q:   What items are allowed inside the NIFT 2026 exam centre?
A:

On the day of the NIFT written exam, the candidate must bring with them

  • NIFT admit card
  • A valid photo ID proof
  • HB Pencils, Eraser, Sharpener, Dry Colours

Items which are not allowed inside the exam venue are Water bottle, Papers, Notes, Books, Calculator, Electronic gadgets, Mobile phone, Bag, Handbag, Correction marker/ white fluid.

Q:   What information will be included in the NIFT important dates 2025?
A:

The important dates of NIFT 2025 will cover the entire admission schedule of NIFT 2025 admission process. The important dates will therefore cover events like release of admission notification, application form, and admit cards, conduct of the exam, declaration of results, counseling schedule, and date of commencement of classes. The candidate by consulting the important dates will know in advance about an upcoming event and so will be able to plan in advance. The exam schedule for NIFT 2025 will be released by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Note that in some cases previously scheduled event may be postoned, prepponed, or even cancelled.
