When applying for the exam, the candidate had to upload all the relevant documents in the prescribed format. NIFT Admission Process 2027
The admission process for NIFT 2027 is open. The NIFT 2027 exam will be conducted for admission to the B.Des, M.Des, B.F.Tech, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M courses.
NIFT entrance exam 2027 will be conducted in two stages.
- Stage 1 - The candidate will first take a written exam - NIFT CAT and NIFT GAT
- Stage 2 - If shortlisted, the candidate has to appear in NIFT Situation Test/ NIFT Personal Interview
The NIFT result will be prepared by giving weightage to the written exam and Situation Test/ PI.

Mock tests are not meant to be alternative to holistic exam preparation for NIFT. This means the candidate must first go through the text books, learn the concepts, solve the problem Sets given at the end of each chapter or from problem booklets, and take notes. Also, solve sample papers to develop ones problem-solving and time-management skills. The prime purpose of mock tests is to help the candidate get an exam-like experience and fix last minute gaps. So, mock tests are tools to improve ones chances of getting a few extra marks and thus improving ones chances of admission.
The information provided by the candidate when filling out the NIFT application form are verified by NIFT officials before any candidate is considered for admission in the first week of June.
The verification of original documents is conducted online.
Note that at the time of counseling registration, the candidate is required to upload documents.
Also, if the certificates are in any other language than Hindi/ English, then a certified translation in Hindi/ English produced duly verified by the issuing institution/ gazetted officer. If the candidate fails to produce the translation, the candidate may be denied admission.

NIFT 2027 Application Form - Document Required
The list of documents to be uploaded while applying for the NIFT 2027 exam is outlined below.
- Copy of Board / University Certificate as proof of Candidate’s Name, Mother’s Name, Father’s
- Name and Date of Birth
- Type of Identification–Bank A/c passbook with photograph /Passport Number/ Ration Card/
- Aadhaar Card Number/ Voter ID Card Number/ Other Govt ID
- Qualifying Degree Certificate or last semester marks sheet
- Your Mailing Address as well as Permanent Address with PIN code
- Four cities for Centres of your choice
- Category Certificate, if applicable
- Undertaking / Result Awaited Certificate, if applicable
- Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Certificate, if applicable

For NIFT Preparation, candidates need to solve 30-40 sample papers in 6 months. When the exams are very near, one sample paper should be solved daily.
NIFT entrance exam for the B. Des programme will include CAT and GAT written tests in stage 1. Candidates who qualify stage 1 have to next appear in a Situation Test. To prepare for the GAT written exam, the candidate needs to work on improving their analytical and logical abilities, and also keep track of GK and Current Affairs.
The registration will start tentatively on December 08, 2026. NIFT Application forms and Notifications can be out anytime now for B.Des, M.Des, B.F. Tech, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M programmes. The application form will be released at @nift.ac.in. The NIFT entrance exam application form is the same for all courses.

What if I don’t follow NIFT 2027 application format?
The candidate may face several issues if they don’t follow the NIFT 2027 application form document guidelines. A few of them are explained here.
- The candidate may not be able to upload the document.
- This means the application process will be incomplete.
- Even if the candidate somehow manages to upload the document, there is a chance the application may be rejected because it doesn’t meet the prescribed specifications.

NIFT and UCEED are equally tough. NIFT has more levels or stage where as UCEED has only one level. UCEED focuses more on Graphic design, Product Design, etc., whereas NIFT focuses on Fashion design, Textile design, etc. The difficulty level of the exam depends on the preparation of the candidates.
With a late fee of INR 5,000, candidates can apply online until Jan 19. Further, the Phase 1 exam will be held on Feb 7, 2027(expected).
The NIFT 2027 application fee is category-specific. The application fee for General/OBC (Non-Creamy)/GEN-EWS Category will be INR 2,000. Meanwhile, those belonging to SC/ ST/ PwD Category need to pay only INR 1,500.
How to fill NIFT Application Form 2027
To apply for the NIFT 2027 exam, candidates must follow the steps listed below.
- Create an applicant account - The candidate must use their Aadhaar details and get them verified. Next, they need to enter their email ID, mobile number, and parent’s name. On successful registration, an applicant account will be created.
- Fill in the application form - Log in to the newly created applicant account and fill in academic qualifications, correspondence address, personal information, and other relevant details.
- Select NIFT 2027 test center - The list of available exam cities will be shown in the drop-down menu. Select the relevant city.
- Upload documents - You will have to upload documents per the given format and specifications.
- Pay the application fee - Finally, pay the application fee of NIFT 2027 to complete the application process. Note that the application fee is category-specific. The application fee is non-refundable.

The application fee for NIFT is INR 2,000 (INR 500 for SC, ST, and PwD categories). NIFT Application forms can also be filled with late fees. The late fee is INR 5,000.

Will there be a NIFT 2027 Application Form Correction Window?
Yes, NTA will allow candidates to edit the NIFT 2027 application form. NIFT correction window will open from January 21, 2027 to January 22, 2027. Using the correction window, the candidate can correct all particulars in the application form, except for the mobile number and email ID.

The application process for NIFT will be conducted online. After completing the application process, inclduing payment of fees, the candidate must download a printout of the application form.
In fact, the NIFT prospectus prescribes the candidate to “apply on time and keep a printout / photocopy of application form for further reference along with proof of payment.”

NIFT Admit Card 2027
NTA will release the NIFT admit card separately for the written exams and Situation Test/ Personal Interview.
The admit card will be released for all candidates who complete the NIFT 2027 application process. The admit card has to be downloaded online from the NTA portal using one’s application number and date of birth.
On the day of the NIFT 2027 exam, the candidate needs to bring with them the admit card and a valid photo ID proof. Without these documents, the candidate will not be allowed inside the exam center. The admit card will carry details like the candidate’s name and roll number, date and time of the exam, name and address of the exam center, and exam-day guidelines.
