It is quite impossible to get seat there if you are from general category. Infact if yo are from reservation category then also there is very little chance of getting seat there at your rank in any branch.

I have got 8000 rank in JEE Main 2022 in ST category. Can I get CSE branch in NIT Rourkela?
Also with a category rank of around 8000, it will be hard for you to get a seat in any NITs IIITs and GFTIs for core branches such as CSE, ECE, etc. For that much rank you have to secure atleast 99+ and 97+ percentile score ( change depending upon exact conditions).. .
