Minimum marks in JEE Main 2026 to qualify for JEE Advanced will be announced by National Testing Agency (NTA) along with the JEE Main 2026 result of session 2. The NTA will announce the JEE Main second session result 2026 in April. Candidates can check here the cutoff for JEE Mains 2026 once released. Candidates who score above the minimum marks or JEE Main 2026 cutoff will only be allowed to appear for the JEE Advanced. JEE Main is the screening test for JEE Advanced, which is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering courses conducted by IITs. Since last year, the top 2.5 lakh candidates who qualify for JEE Main will be selected to appear for JEE Advanced 2026. Every candidate needs to score certain marks or above the cutoff for JEE Advanced.

JEE Main 2022 Cutoff for JEE Advanced
Candidates can check below the minimum marks required for JEE Advanced as per the last year's cutoff. Qualifying marks for JEE Mains 2026, also called qualifying percentile for JEE Mains will be announced by the NTA along with the JEE Main 2026 session 2 result. Candidates must note that qualifying percentile for JEE Mains 2026 is the minimum percentile required to appear in JEE Advanced 2026. For admission to NIT or IIITs, there is no provision of qualifying marks in JEE Mains 2026 and admission is given based on All India Rank in JEE Mains exam. NTA will announce JEE Mains 2026 All India rank in April after session 2 exam results.
The official website to apply for JEE Main 2026 is jeemain.nta.nic.in. NTA has released the JEE Main application form 2026 session 1. Candidates can fill the form online from the website. Details regarding JEE Main application fee, documents required to fill the form, how to apply and other important details related to application process is available on this page. JEE Main 2026 Session 2 application form will be available in January last week, 2026.

The top 2.5 lakh candidates who qualify for the JEE Advanced would comprise students from unreserved as well as reserved categories. The exam conducting authority will publish the raw score obtained by a candidate in JEE Main as well as the corresponding percentile score. The cut-off for JEE Advanced would be based on the percentile score. Candidates can check the expected cut off percentile and score required to qualify for the JEE Advanced in the table above.
It is expected that the entrance test will be conducted online at 300 Centres for BTech/BE, BArch and BPlanning across the country. The exam acts as a gateway for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) – India’s premier engineering students.
The percentile of a candidate is the basis for calculating the JEE Main score. As candidates appear for the exam in different shifts of different days, the percentile scores of the students are normalized and calculated as per the formula available on the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in. The exam conducting authorities will release the cut off for JEE Main only after the conclusion of the JEE Man 2025 April exam along with the JEE Main 2025 ranks and final results.
There is no minimum or maximum age to apply for JEE Main as per JEE Main eligibility criteria by NTA. You can appear in JEE Mains for three consecutive years from the year of passing class 12. You must have passed class 12 in 2024, 2025 or you are appearing in 2026 if you plan to apply for JEE Main 2026.
Report to JEE Main exam centre as per time mentioned in admit card. Try to report at least one hour before JEE Mains exam starts. The first shift of exam starts at 9 am and the second shift at 3 pm.
No minimum percentage is required to appear in JEE Mains exam as per NTA. In some various institutes, there is a creiteria for class 12 minimum percentage for admission. For example, IITs and NITs need minimum 75% marks in class 12 for BTech courses.
