Q:   What is the weightage of chapters in JEE exam?
A:
Physics- 1. Optics 2. Magnetism mixed with mechanics 3. Rotational dynamics 4. Heat and thermodynamics 5 experiments and errors Chemistry - 1. Inorganic Chemistry (most scoring) 2. Organic chemistry 3. Atomic structure (one question for sure) 4. Equilibrium Mathematics - 1. Coordinate geometry (most important parabola) 2. Calculus (application of derivatives most important) 3. Trignometry (was the toughest for me) Most of the questions are usually asked from these topics. Getting a good hold of these topics can get you rank under 1000 in JEE adv. Hope this helps.
Q:   Do I need to attempt all the questions in JEE Main exam?
A:

NO, it is compulsory to attempt all questions in the JEE Main exam. The JEE Main exam has negative marking and candidates must answer only those questions for which they know the correct answer. Students must note that there are no minimum marks in JEE Main that students need to score. Students gets All India Rank based on the marks they secure in exam and gets admission based on that rank.

JEE Main 2025 January 29 Shift 1 Paper Analysis by Aakash

  • Physics - Most students found the Physics section easy, with many questions being theoretical. The distribution of topics was balanced, with an almost equal representation from Class 11 and Class 12. Key topics such as Mechanics, Waves, and Thermodynamics were adequately covered, while Electrostatics, Optics, and Mechanics had a stronger presence. In contrast, Modern Physics and Magnetism had fewer questions.
  • Chemistry - Easy to moderate and served as a time-saver. Almost all chapters were covered, with Inorganic and Organic Chemistry dominating, while Physical Chemistry had fewer questions. Most theoretical questions were directly based on NCERT, making the section straightforward and quick to complete, allowing students to allocate more time to other sections.
  • Mathematics - Moderate to difficult. Questions were well-distributed across most chapters, with topics like 3D, Vectors, Binomial, Conic Sections, Matrices, and Determinants being prominent. However, Calculus had fewer questions. While the difficulty level was not excessively high, the lengthy and time-consuming nature of many questions made Mathematics the most challenging section for many students.
