The authority releases the COMEDK UGET seat matrix at the start of the counselling process. This year, there were around 20,000 seats available for the COMEDK counselling.
Admission through COMEDK UGET is done through the COMEDK counselling based on the candidate's merit in the exam.
Since the COMEDK exam is conducted in multiple sessions, the authorities use a normalisation method to ensure no candidate is at a disadvantage because of varying difficulty levels. Normalisation in COMEDK UGET signifies the percentage of candidates who have received a score equal to or lower than the candidate.
In case of ties in the total percentile scores, if any, the same will be resolved using
the following revised tie-breaking rules, in the order specified:
1) Higher Percentile score of Physics and Mathematics marks taken together.
2) Higher Percentile score in Mathematics.
3) Higher Percentile score in Chemistry.
4) Age of the Candidate, the elder candidate is ranked higher than the younger
candidate.

Factors Determining the COMEDK Cutoff
COMEDK UGET cutoff ranks vary every year because of the various factors that influence COMEDK counselling. The level of the exam is the most significant factor in this case. If the exam is difficult the performance of all the candidates turns out to be poor, hence the cutoff ranks get lowered. The number of candidates who appear for the examination is the next significant factor. If the number of candidates is large, the competition for the seats is high, and hence the cutoff ranks increase. Another factor is the number of seats in the colleges and branches. When the number of seats is changed, the cutoff rank is also affected. Preferences of candidates, especially in branches such as Computer Science, also affect the cutoff ranks. Factors such as category-wise reservation, round-wise allotment, and the withdrawal of seats affect the cutoff rank in the COMEDK UGET.

COMEDK UGET Cutoff 2025 – Tie Breaking Rule
In case of a tie in COMEDK cutoff 2025, where two or more candidates obtain the same ranks, the process of Inter-se will be followed in order to determine the ranks of such candidates. The process of determining COMEDK UGET cutoff 2025 Inter-se merit is explained below:
- In case of a tie, candidates with the least number of wrong answers in the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics sections will be given a higher rank.
- If the tie still remains, candidates having more aggregate score in Physics & Mathematics will be given preference.
- If the tie still persists, candidates with more marks in the Mathematics section will be given preference.
- If the tie remains unbroken, the elder candidate will be given over the other.
