The state level entrance examination, Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) is taken by the students to secure admissions to undergraduate engineering, medical, and dental programmes offered by the colleges in the state of Karnataka. The scores of COMEDK are accepted by various medical colleges, dental colleges and engineering colleges in the state of Karnataka.

COMEDK 2019 is scheduled to be conducted on May 12. COMEDK final merit list is to be announced by May 27. Check COMEDK 2018 important dates.

4. Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology (RGIT), Bangalore

Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology (RGIT) offers UG and PG programmes majorly in the stream of Engineering and Technology. The institute accepts COMEDK and KCET(Karnataka Common Entrance Test) scores for admissions to its UG engineering programmes. 5. Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute Of Technology, Bangalore

Also known as Sir MVIT, the college is ranked among the top 25 engineering colleges in Karnataka State. Imparting teaching in Engineering and Technology since 1986, the college is well renowned for its undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD courses. The college is famous for providing training and promoting engineering education in various branches such as Electronics & Communication, Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical & Electronics to name a few.

6. Siddaganga Institute Of Technology, Tumkur

This prestigious college is one of the premier engineering and technological institutes in the state of Karnataka. Established in 1963, the college offers 12 disciplines in undergraduate and 7 discipline in postgraduate courses along with MBA and MCA degree. The college provides training in multiple fields of BTech programmes such as Civil, Electrical, Mechanical engineering and a few more.

7. BMS College Of Engineering, Bangalore

Located in the IT Capital, Bangalore, BMS College of Engineering was the first private engineering college founded in 1946. The college promotes teaching for undergraduate, post-graduate and other research centers offering PhD/ MSc degree in science. Located in the heart of Silicon Valley of the country, Bangalore, BIT is popular for its undergraduate, post graduate and PhD courses offered to its students. The college offers 10 undergraduate and three postgraduate programmes in different branches of science. Programmes such as BTech in the field of Telecommunication, Electrical, Civil, Instrumentation Technology, Electronics, Mechanical, Computer Science and a few more offered to its students.

9. BGS Institute of Technology (BGSIT)

BGS Institute of Technology (BGSIT) offers UG and PG programmes in Engineering and Management. At the UG level, the institute offers BE programmes in 5 specialisations including Computer Science & Engineering, Information Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

To be eligible to pursue a BE programme at BGSIT, aspirants must have secured a minimum of 45% Aggregate (40% in case of SC/ST/Other Backward Classes) in Second year Pre-University or XII standard or equivalent examination recognized by the University (with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with any one of the following subjects, namely, Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Computer Science, Biology and Electronics).

10. Dayananda Sagar University (DSU), Bangalore

Approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Dayananda Sagar University (DSU) is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University(VTU). The university offers a BE degree in various specializations including Aeronautical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Biotechnology, Computer Science And Engineering, Construction Technology & Management, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Industrial Engineering & Management, Information Science, Instrumentation Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Electronics and Telecommunications.

When two or more students secure equal marks then tie-breaking rule is used. In the COMEDK tie-breaking rule are:

  • Priority is given to the student with a higher percentile in Physics and Mathematics
  • Second preference is given to the student with a higher percentile in Mathematics

Any candidate with at least 1 mark in the COMEDK UGET exam will be allotted a rank in the exam. Only those who obtain 0 marks will not be given any rank.

The authority announces the COMEDK UGET cutoff separately for each round of counselling. Candidates will be able to check the COMEDK cutoff from the official website, comedk.org.
