Q:   What documents are required for admission to Microelectronics course?
A:

You can find the basic list of documents to carry for admission to Microelectronics courses given below:
• UG Mark Sheet with at least 55 to 60% marks (For PG courses)
• Provisional Mark Sheet (if the original is not issued yet)
• Class 12 Mark Sheet with 50 to 60% marks
• Exam Scorecard and Admit card
• A Valid ID Proof like PAN, Passport, Aadhar, etc.
• Reserved Category Certificate (if applicable)
• Migration and Character Certificates (if required)
• Photocopies of all original documents
• Recent Passport-Size Photos

Q:   What is the selection criteria for M.Tech in Microelectronics course?
A:

If you want to get admission to Microelectronics course at the PG level, you need to clear relevant entrance exams like the GATE exam, which is one of the most competitive engineering exams for postgraduate courses. Further, several colleges also take their own entrance tests for MTech admissions like BITS HD conducted by BITS Pilani.

You should get excellent marks in the exam as the competition is quite high for colleges like the IITs and NITs where the cutoffs are difficult to meet. Best wishes!

Q:   What is the general admission process for Microelectronics course?
A:

You should get at least 50 to 60% marks in the PCM subjects for getting admission to integrated BTech-MTech Microelectronics courses. For an ECE, degree, you should have completed your graduation in ECE, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with at least 55 to 60% marks.

Further, you need to give relevant entrance exams like GATE, JEE Main, JEE Advanced, etc. and fill out the college application forms before the last date. After the exam results are out and you've got your marks, you need to apply for the college counseling process that is meant for seat allotment purposes.

After getting the seat, you have to go to the college and pay the Microelectronic course fee after which you can start attending the classes as per schedule.

Q:   What is the eligibility for Microelectronics course?
A:

For getting admission to Microelectronics courses, it is very important for you to meet the eligibility criteria. For UG courses, you should get a minimum of 50 to 60% marks in Class 12 in the PCM subjects. Talking about the PG courses, you should have done BTech in ECE, or a related field with at least 55 to 60% marks. Also, you should give relevant entrance tests and score very good marks to be able to get a seat at a reputed college.

Q:   Which course is better among Microelectronics and VLSI?
A:

It all depends upon your interests and career goals. So, if you are interested in the basic principles of microchips and have a flair for versatile options, then Microelectronics is the way to go.

Or if you are more interested in the advanced design of complex integrated circuits and have a strong foundation in digital circuits, then VLSI suits the bill. Some of the key differences between both the courses are mentioned in the table below:

AspectMicroelectronicsVLSI
ScopeSpreads and covers a range of aspects of microchip design and fabrication
Deeper into the design and realization of very large-scale integrated circuits
SpecialisationsAnalog circuits, digital circuits, mixed-signal circuits, MEMS, etc.
Digital design, physical design, verification and testing, etc.
Job ProspectsVaried and diverse across several fields of consumer electronics, communication, healthcare, etc.
Focused in the semiconductor industry and related industries
Academic focus
Educational focusFundamentals of microelectronics, including device physics, circuit design, and fabrication processes
Advanced topics in VLSI design, such as computer-aided design (CAD) tools, low-power design, and high-performance design
Q:   What is the Geology syllabus of CUET?
A:

Common University Entrance Test (CUET) result is released by National Testing Agency. CUET syllabus is divided into three sections viz., Languages, Domain Subject and General Test. CUET language section assesses candidate through reading comprehension (factual, literary, and narrative), literary aptitude and vocabulary. CUET syllabus second section- domain subject assesses candidate's in depth knowledge on subject he/she has opted for. CUET third section- general test includes general knowledge, current affairs, general mental ability, quantitative reasoning and logical and analytical reasoning. CUET syllabus is available now. Candidates can check section wise detailed CUET syllabus here
