MTech Admission 2025 is based on both the entrance scores. Candidates should pass BTech and exms to be eligbile. Exams are CUET, CEETA PG, CUET PG, AP PGECET, etc. Popular colleges are IITs, NITs, VIT Vellore, DTU, etc. The fee can range around approx. INR 3 Lakh to INR 8 Lakh.

M Tech Admission 2025 FAQs
Q. What are the eligibility requirements to pursue MTech courses from top engineering colleges?
A. The eligibility criteria for admission to top Engineering colleges in India for MTech degree are mentioned below:
Must have BE/BTech degree with a valid score in GATE.
Aggregate of 55% marks in BTech.
Pass the exam.
Q. What is the MTech admission process at the IITs in India?
A. You must secure at least 60% marks in your bachelor's degree in a relevant field. For reserved category candidates, the marks eligibility requirement is usually 55%. Further, you have to appear for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, that is the GATE exam. You must secure a good rank in the GATE exam as it serves as the final call for admission.
After you successfully secure a decent rank in GATE, you will have to appear for the COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal) counselling process where you will be allotted a seat according to your rank at one of the IIT branches in India. There are various rounds of seat allotment during the COAP counselling and the results are announced after every round. You must stay updated about all the rounds to avoid any last minute confusion. A few M.Tech courses may also require you to appear for the interview round.

Q. How much time does the M Tech admission process take in general?
A. It differs from one institution to another. Every academic institution has their own set of guidelines that they follow for admission to various MTech specializations. The time involved in the admission process may take a few months. After you appear for your entrance exams like GATE, CEETA PG, TS PGECET, etc., the general admission procedure involves the declaration of exam results, applying for the counselling process online, seat allotment on the basis of your exam rank, and admission confirmation from your end by visiting the college and paying the necessary MTech course fees and getting your documents verified.
Q. Who is eligible for pursuing MTech courses at NITs in India?
A. National Institutes of Technology (NITs) ask for a minimum of 60% marks in your bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering branch. You need to work hard for your final BTech/B. E exams and make sure you get at least 60% marks overall, to be eligible for admission to the popular NITs in India. The competition is very high there, given their status and All-India ranking in India, and hence, their minimum marks requirement is also of a certain standard as compared to other universities that may consider you for admission with 50 to 60% marks in graduation as well.
Q. What is the MTech admission process at the popular NITs in India?
A. To get admission to M.Tech courses at the NITs in India, you must secure at least 60% marks in your BTech/B.E degree in a relevant engineering field. For reserved category candidates, the marks eligibility requirement is usually 55%. In addition, you must appear for and clear the GATE examination. You must secure very good marks and a decent rank in the GATE exam to be eligible for admission.
