JEE Main Answer Key 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the JEE Main 2026 session 1 answer key on the official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in. The JEE Main 2026 answer key release date for the January session exam has not been notified, however, the answer keys can be expected 3 to 5 days after the exam is over. First, NTA releases the provisional JEE Main answer keys that are open for objections and challenges.

Candidates can challenge the JEE Mains 2026 answer keys under their respective logins of JEE Main 2026. To submit the challenges, candidates need to pay an objection fee for each challenge. NTA releases the final JEE Main 2026 answer keys after reviewing the challenges, with the JEE Main result 2026.

NTA releases the JEE Mains response sheet with the answer keys under the login of the candidates. The JEE Main 2026 response sheet will have the answers marked by the candidates on the exam day. The response sheet of JEE Main is nothing but a replica of the answers that the candidates mark on the exam day.

Using the JEE Main response sheet 2026, candidates can compare their answers with the correct answers given on the JEE Main answer keys. Candidates must know that the JEE Main response sheet will have the record of the answers marked by the candidate in the exam. If any candidate thinks that the answers marked by him in actual exam and the one shown in JEE Main response sheet are different, the answers marked in response sheet will be final. Candidates can not challenge the JEE Main response sheet.

Q:   Can I raise objection against JEE Main response sheet?

No. JEE Main response sheet can't be challenged. As per NTA, there is no facility to raise objections against JEE Mains response sheet. The response sheet is the document which have details of answers attempted by the candidate during the exam.

How to Calculate Score using JEE Main Answer Key

Candidates can know their expected JEE Main marks using response sheet and answer key released by NTA. To calculate score, they need to notedown their correct and incorrect answers as per NTA answer key and response sheet. Alott 4 marks for every correct and 1 marks for incorrect answers. The sum obtained upon subtracting total of incorrect answers from correct answers will be candidates marks in exam.

  • Log in with your Application Number and Date of Birth/Password

  • At the Candidates’ Login Screen, select “Challenge Answer Key” or “Challenge Recorded Response”

  • For Recorded Response, select Question Number, Recorded Answer, and Claimed Answer. Then, add to the claims list

  • For the Answer Key, select the question ID/Answer ID, then add to the claims list

  • Make the payment by Debit/Credit/Net banking

JEE Main answer key challenge fees: Candidates need to pay a processing fee of INR 200 per question using credit/debit card/Net banking/UPI/PAYTM service. The fee is non-refundable. However, if the challenge is approved by NTA, the fee is refunded.

Candidates must note that qualifying percentile for JEE Mains 2026 is the minimum percentile required to appear in JEE Advanced 2026. For admission to NIT or IIITs, there is no provision of qualifying marks in JEE Mains 2026 and admission is given based on All India Rank in JEE Mains exam. NTA will announce JEE Mains 2026 All India rank in April after session 2 exam results.

Candidates will be able to check these details on the JEE Main scorecard:

JEE Main Application Number, JEE Main Roll Number, Name & Date of Birth, Qualifying Status, All India Rank secured by a candidate in the exam, category-wise All India Rank (AIR) of the Candidate, Subject-wise scores, aggregate score in all three subjects of both sessions. You can download your Joint Entrance Examination-Main Result from the official website. The official website is jeemain.nta.nic.in. Note that, there is no provision to re-evaluate/re-check JEE Main result.

Q:   Are JEE Main result and JEE Main score card different?

JEE Main result and scorecard are the same thing. After login to the website for checking their JEE Main result, students will SEE their scorecards with details of the percentile scores secured by them in each subject, aggregate percentile score, All India Rank and cutoff. Candidates need to download and take its printout. JEE Main result/scorecard is an important document and is required for counselling and admission process.
