Mohit, a Delhi based student shared, “Paper-I was little tough. This year, there were not many questions on current affairs. Rather, more questions were asked from Reasoning, Communication and Teaching Aptitude sections." Regarding online mode of UGC NET exam, Mohit said, “One problem that many candidates faced in paper-I was that the unseen passage was not opening properly. We had to scroll the page again and again to read the passage properly. However, the case was not the same in paper-II of UGC NET.” Mohit had opted Mass Communication subject for paper-II of UGC NET.
Another candidate, Pradip took UGC NET for the second time for History paper. Regarding paper-I of UGC NET, Pradip said, “I took UGC NET for the second time this year. First paper of the exam was similar to various banking exams (such as SBI PO, IBPS PO, SBI Clerk and IBPS Clerk).” Regarding UGC NET exam pattern, Pradip shared, “Pattern of paper-I was similar to that of last year. However, the only difference was that this year paper was conducted in online mode. Other than that, in terms of number of questions and marking scheme, paper-I was same as last year and I did not feel much difficulty in attempting the paper.”
According to Shiriyaksh, a first year student from Amity University, “I found questions in the exam tough but since I am a fresher and gave UGC NET for first time, it was a good experience for me. I was comfortable in giving the exam in online mode. I will try my best to crack the exam next year.”
Another candidate, Rajat also spoke to Shiksha and shared, ‘Paper-I was similar to that of last year’s exam. Time duration of the exam was also same as last year. I attempted all the questions and completed the paper on time. Overall, my paper went good.”
Once the exam concludes on December 22, NTA will release UGC NET 2018 results on January 10, 2019. Post UGC NET results, all shortlisted candidates will be eligible to apply for the post of Assistant Professor in different universities and colleges across India.
