CAT 2023 slot 1 answer key and question paper analysis is available by the various coaching institutes. Candidates can check their responses by downloading it. Candidates can check here CAT 2023 Slot 1 analysis. The CAT slot 1 question paper was moderately difficult.

There was no change in the CAT exam from the previous years. CAT 2023 Slot 1 DILR and VARC were easy and doable, whereas CAT 2023 Slot 1 Quantitative Ability was difficult. The official CAT 2023 answer key and response sheet was released on December 5, 2023 at the iimcat.ac.in website

Reading Comprehension Passages

The VARC section of the CAT 2023 Slot 1 question paper had the following Reading Comprehension topics

Passage 1: Human Psychology (Geographical and Non-Geographical): Moderate

This passage was slightly difficult to read and understand.

Passage 2: Return of Wolves' predation in a French Region: Easy to Moderate

This passage was comparatively easy but was pretty lengthy. Talks about the political and ethical impacts of the wolves. It talks about what would be the impact of the wolves on the scenic beauty and ecosystem.

Passage 3: Colonialism: Moderate

The passage talked about the colonial effect, and how the societies have been built basis colonialism. It directly talked about how the societies were built over the years after the impact of colonialism and in turn its impact on the mindset of the people.

Passage 4: Indian Ocean/ Natural Sciences: Easy

DILR Topics

The DILR section had four sets with five questions each. Here is a summary of the questions:

Set 1: Mean, Median, Mode (Rating of Restaurants: Moderate

Set 2: Visa Application (Scheduling): Easy

Set 3: House (Routes and Networks): Moderate

Set 4: Professor (Selection): Moderate

Quantitative Aptitude questions asked in CAT 2023 slot 1 are as follows:

Q. Geeta sells A – 20% profit and B – 10 % loss at the same SP. If she increase SP, such that A and B still sold at an equal price and profit of 10% made on B, then profit made on A will be?

A. 45% B. 47% C. 42% D. 49%

The correct answer is 47%.

Q. The minor angle between hours hand and minutes hand of a clock was observed at 8:48 am. The minimum deviation (in minutes) after 8:48 am on when angle increased by 50% is:

A. 24/4 B. 4 C. 36/11 D. 2

The correct answer is 24/4

Q: P Travels from A TO B and Q travels from B to A after meeting, P reaches to be B in 6 hours and Q reaches A in 24 hours. If speed of P is 54kmph, find the distance between AB.

A: 972

Q: (1134)n is divisible by 168. (168)m is divisible by (1134)n. Find  the minimum value of n+m.

A: 15

Q: From a cup of coffee, some coffee is removed and replaced with coco powder, Thus mix p is formed. Again, same amount of mixture is removed from mix p and replaced with coco powder. This mix qhas coffee and coco powder in the ration of 16:9. Find the ration of coco powder.

A: 5:9

Q: A person sold 2 products A and B at the same price. While doing that, there was 20% profit on A and 10% loss on B. Now again both products sold at same price but there is 10% profit on B this time. What is the approximate profit percentage on A.

A: 46.66%

Q: Salaries of A, B, C are in ration a:b:c. Their salaries are increased in 1st year by 20%, 25% and 20%. In 2nd year, the salaries of A and C are again increased by 40% and 50% . The new salary of B is equal to mean of salaries of a and c.

A: 26%

Yes, CAT exam is MCQ type, meaning there are no subjective type questions wherein you have to write a lot. In CAT every question is to be answered in one word or option. However, all questions don't have MCQ options, some are Type In The Answer (TITA) questions.

Yes, students can prepare for the KMAT exam along with the CAT exam. However, CAT is comparatively a difficult MBA exam. The difficulty level of KMAT is easy to moderate, but CAT retains high difficulty levels. Students can use CAT books for KMAT preparation
