CAT 2023 slot 2 answer key and question paper analysis is available. The CAT 2023 exam was conducted on November 26, 2023, in the computer-based test mode. The CAT 2023 question paper was released by the CAT exam conducting IIM, IIM Lucknow along with the official CAT answer key on December 5, 2024. There is no change in the CAT exam pattern from the previous years. CAT 2023 Slot 1 DILR, VARC were easy, whereas CAT 2023 Slot 1 Quantitative Ability was difficult. Overall, the difficulty was moderate. CAT 2023 slot 2 is of moderate difficulty level too.

Commonly asked questions
Till 2014, there were only two sections in CAT. Quantitative Aptitude was clubbed with Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning was clubbed with Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension. In 2015, the Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning were clubbed together and Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension made two individual sections. Since 2015, the sectional segregation has remained the same but the number of questions have come down from 100 to 66. The exam duration has also been reduced. Until 2019, the CAT exam was of 180 minutes and the total number of questions were 100. However, in 2020, the question paper structure was revised due to COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, the total number of questions came down to 76. In 2021 and 2022, the number of questions were further lowered to 66. For the last two years, CAT is conducted for 2 hours, and the number of questions is 66. In CAT 2024 however, the number of questions were increased to 68.

The CAT VARC section is dominated by RC questions. Out of 24 questions about 14-16 are based on Reading Comprehension passages and the rest of them are based on parajumbles, para completion, etc.
CAT has about 12-16 RC question. Since, it is not mandatory to solve all the questions, candidates can maximize their scores by leaving out the questions related to the passage they find the toughest. There is negative marking in CAT so candidates must ensure that they mark only the correct options or do not mark any option at all.

RC Topic 2: History Based: Doable

The passage, centred around self-care, introduced a degree of trickiness. Candidates needed to navigate through nuanced content, requiring a careful understanding of the context.

This passage delved into liberalism and presented a challenge with very long compound sentences. Comprehending the content proved difficult, and familiarity with Aeon might have provided an advantage.

Summary of Questions
Set 1: Ride - 3 Girls Taking Ride: Moderate
This set revolved around three girls taking rides at four different time slots, each associated with a different price.
Set 2: 3x3 Grid Box with Coins Placement: Difficult
A 3x3 grid box where coins were placed in rows, requiring calculations involving mean, median, and mode. This set posed a challenge due to its calculation-intensive nature. Candidates had to navigate through intricate computations to determine the placement of coins accurately.
Set 3: Competition with Numbered Balls 1-9: Very Easy
Three individuals in a competition taking out balls numbered 1-9. This set was comparatively straightforward, testing candidates on basic logical reasoning. It provided a breather amid more complex sets.
