IIT Kanpur MBA is ranked 27th on the NIRF ranking list 2025 for best management courses in India. The institute offers MBA through its Department of Management Sciences. The course fee of IIT Kanpur MBA is nearly INR 9.28 lakh, payable in instalments, semester wise.
Admission to the IIT Kanpur MBA is done on the basis of CAT score. The Department of Management Sciences will start MBA application process in January 2026 after the release of CAT result 2025 and will conduct the selection round in March-April 2026. IIT Kanpur MBA Admission Process 2026
The IIT Kanpur MBA Admission Process 2026 will include three stages:
- Application through CAT score 2025
- Shortlisting of candidates for GD-PI
- Final selection of candidates for MBA
As per the details collated from various sources on the internet, a student must have a GATE rank up to 200 or below for admission to M.Tech at IIT Kanpur. While there is no minimum GATE score for IIT admission, the minimum rank/ score requirement depends completely on the individual institutes participating in the admission process. However, keeping the past cut off trends in mind, candidates must score a GATE rank of up to or below 200 and their minimum GATE score must be between 400-800. The CAT cut offs for IIM Bangalore hovers between 97-100 percentile. The qualifying CAT cut off required for being eligible for IIM Bangalore's Written Ability test (What) and Personal Interview PI is 85 percentile for General category students, whereas for SC candidates, it is 70 percentile. IIT Kanpur MBA Admission 2026: Eligibility Criteria
For admission to IIM Kanpur MBA, management aspirants have to fulfill the following academic eligibility criteria:
- They must have scored minimum 60 % aggregate in Bachelor’s degree programme or equivalent from a recognized university for General, EWS and OBC candidates.
- They must have scored minimum 50% aggregate in Bachelor’s degree programme or equivalent from a recognized university for SC/ST and PwD candidates.

Admission usually closes at 85 percentile for General/EWS/OBC candidates and 75 percentile for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
