A: 

BHU placements are good. The highest and average packages secured by MBA students in 2025 were INR 19.8 LPA and INR 10.1 LPA, respectively. Median salary stood at INR 9.2 LPA. The university has not yet released the placement data 2026 for other courses. During the placement drive 2025, a total of 177 placement drives were held, and more than 950 students were placed.

Q:   Can I get a seat at BHU with 200 marks in CUET?
A: 

BHU cutoff 2026 was released for the 3rd round for different All India quota categories for the UG-level courses. The round 3 cutoff ranged from 30 to 202 for the General AI category. Hence, students can get admission at BHU with a score of 200. See below to know which courses are available in the second round.

MBA placements at BHU are good. Highest and average package offered during BHU MBA placements 2025 was INR 19.8 LPA and 9.7 LPA.

Q:   What is the CUET score required for BHU?
A: 

CUET score required for BHU admission depends on candidates' selected course and reservation category. CUET UG cut-off for BHU admission 2026 is yet to be released. As per the BHU CUET cut-off 2025, the closing CUET UG score for admission to most courses ranged from 500 to 600 for the General AI category. For some courses, such as BSc Computer Science & BSc Mathematics with Statistics, the closing score was between 400 and 500 for the General AI category. Cut-off scores for reserved categories like OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and EWS are usually 15-20% lower than the General AI category.

Q:   What is the hostel fee at BHU, including mess charge and everything?

The hostel fee structure for BHU is INR 3,000 - INR 4,000 per semester depending upon the degree. The hostel fee does not include mess charges. Banaras Hindu University is spread across a 1,300-acre campus. There are 41 hostels for boys and 21 for girls. Additionally, there is separate accommodation for international students. All the hostels have basic amenities like water purifiers, a common room, recreation room, mess, TV, laundry services, security and surveillance system, etc.

Yes, Banaras Hindu University popularly known for its MBA programme. The institute offers MBA courses via the Institute of Management Studies under the Faculty of Management Studies. The faculty of Commerce also provides MBA courses. 

Q:   What is the fees of BTech at BHU?
A: 

The total tuition fees for BTech is INR 3.2 lakh - INR 8 lakh at BHU. The total fee includes tuition fee, hostel fee, security deposit, registration fee, etc. Aspirants must pay the course fees to confirm their seat.

Q:   Does BHU accept JEE Mains?
A: 

BHU does not accept JEE Main scores for BTech course admission. The interested students need to take the CUET-UG entrance exam to be eligible for selection. Students who get shortlisted based on exam score have to take part in counselling. The seats are allotted in this round only. 

Q:   How many marks are required in NEET for MBBS in BHU?
A: 

For MBBS in BHU, students shall have secured at least 50 percentile if belonging to the General category, 45 for physically handicapped General candidates, and 40 for the SC/ST/OBC category students. It must be noted that the mentioned information is for reference purposes, candidates shall score at least this much to take admission. Q:   Can I join BHU without CUET?
A: 

Yes, Banaras Hindu University accepts CUET-UG entrance exam scores for admission to BA (Hons) course. Earlier, admission to the UG course was through BHU UET. Moreover, only the candidates who have valid CUET-UG scores become eligible to register for the counselling round. The CUET application process is carried out in online mode (cuet.samarth.ac.in). Further, NTA conducts CUET-UG 2024 entrance test. The exam is scheduled between May 15 and May 31.

Q:   Is an MBA from BHU worth it?
A: 

MBA at BHU is worth it for candidates who prioritise Return on Investment or ROI. IMS BHU offers an MBA at a fairly affordable tuition fee of INR 1.2 lakh. As per the latest placement data for the batch of 2026, the median salary for MBA students stood at INR 9.2 LPA. And the average package was INR 10.1 LPA. However, for high-end corporate packages, candidates can explore the Top Private MBA Colleges in India.

Q:   What is the scope of BA LLB at BHU?
A: 
The Internship & Placement Committee (IPC) at the Faculty of Law, BHU, takes care of all the placement-related activities at the institute. BHU B.A. LL.B. Placement is initiated each year in the month of July and goes on till the month of May next year. BHU LL.B. Placements start with handing out invitation letters to various firms, advocates and other organisations for the recruitment process. Interested companies submit the completed form and candidates are shortlisted against the requirements mentioned by the organisations. Aptitude tests are also conducted if needed. The interview session for placements starts every year in the month of November. As per the external sources, a major portion of Banaras Hindu University alumni is placed in the Education sector (19%) followed by Research (15%) and Business Development (11%). The college website comprises little to no data on the placement package. However, as per the external sources, the highest CTC of INR 10 LPA is offered during BHU LL.B. Placements. Q:   Is it worth pursuing BA at BHU?
A: 

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is one of the top-ranking universities in the country. In the NIRF rankings in 2023, BHU is ranked in fifth position under the "university" category. Moreover, as per the university NIRF report 2023, 480 UG (three-year) students were placed out of 3,564. The median package given to the placed candidates stood at INR 8 LPA. Q:   Is IIT BHU recognised by UGC?

Yes, IIT BHU is recognised by UGC and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). IIT BHU has been ranked 15 by NIRF 2023 under the Engineering category. The college is also ranked 531 by QS World University Rankings 2025. The institute has 15 departments through which it offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral-level courses in Engineering, Architecture, Science and Pharmacy streams. Q:   Which university is better for MCA- JNU or BHU?
A: 

According to the NIRF 2024 rankings, JNU is ranked second and BHU is ranked at fifth position. As per an unofficial source, the seat intake is higher at JNU for MCA, however, candidates have a higher chance of getting admission.

Moreover, the minimum aggregate required in the last qualifying exam is 60% for BHU and 55% in JNU for MCA. The placement opportunities are provided by both universities. Candidates can refer to the following table to know more:

BHU BSc (H) admission is strictly entrance-based. Earlier, admission was through BHU-UET, however, now the students need to take the CUET-UG exam. Q:   Are Muslims allowed in BHU?
A: 

Any caste, region, religion students can apply for admission to various courses at BHU. Any caste student must fulfill the eligibility criteria and take admission. While selection process, students are not judged basis their religion, they are judged based on their merit. Hence, any student meeting the eligibility criteria can get admission in BHU. BHU does not descriminate people on any basis.

Q:   Is BHU good for pursuing BA LLB course?
A: 
Yes, they are doing well, when it comes to infrastructure and faculty. However, it lacks behind NLUS in mooting, debating and overall exposure.
