NEET PG 2026 Result: The National Board Of Examinations In Medical Sciences will release the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-PG merit list within a month from the exam. The NEET PG Exam will be conducted online at the designated exam centres on August 30. The Agency will release the names Application ID, Roll Number, Total marks,Category, NEET PG rank, All India 50% Quota (AIQ50%) Rank and All India 50% Quota (AIQ50%) Category Rank. The candidates who clear the NEET PG exam will be called for the NEET PG Counselling based on their rank, category rank and the opted institution and state.

NEET PG 2025 merit list for All India 50% quota seats was released online only on August 19, 2025. 1,28,116 candidates qualified the exam out of 2,30,114 who appeared in the online exam. For General category, NEET PG cutoff was 276, while for SC/ST, the cutoff has been reduced to 235.

How to check the NEET PG Result 2026?

The candidates should note that total marks of the candidates will be calculated based on their marks as per the final NEET PG answer key. NEET PG counselling result for round-2 was released on December 16, 2025. NBE released NEET PG answer key along with the question ID on August 29, 2025. The candidates will be able to check their result in the manner given below:

  • Go to the official webpage of NBE
  • Select 'NEET PG' from the buttons given at the bottom
  • Click on the NEET PG result PDF
  • A list will open on your screen
  • Scroll through the list and find your roll number
  • To save time, press Ctrl+F and type your roll number
  • Check your NEET PG result

NEET PG Tie Breaking Criteria

When preparing the merit list, the authorities often come across two candidates with equal marks in the NEET PG result. To help determine the ranks of the candidates in such cases and efficiently complete the process, NBE has placed a tie-breaker protocol in place for NEET PG result.

  • Candidates with more correct responses will be placed at a better merit position
  • Those having a lesser number of negative responses will be preferred
  • Candidates who are older will be placed at a better merit position
  • Those who secure higher aggregate marks (in percentage) in all MBBS Professional Examinations will be placed at a better merit position 

NEET PG Result : Percentage vs Percentile

NEET PG Result Types

NBE releases two types of NEET PG result for providing admission to PG courses at medical colleges across the country. The medical colleges use scores of NEET PG for allocating different categories of seats to candidates. The two types of results of NEET PG have been explained below:

NEET PG result for 50% AIQ seats

This category of NEET PG results is for admission to 50 % All India Quota Seats. NBE releases the result in PDF format. The counselling for these seats is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee. Admission to these seats is provided on the basis of AIQ rank, marks obtained, choices filled, reservation criteria, and availability of seats. The cut off for admission to AIQ 50% seats is the same as the minimum qualifying percentile. 

NEET PG result for State quota seats

This type of result is for admission to State quota seats. The respective State authorities conduct counselling for admission to the PG courses in the state quota category. No state is allowed to conduct any other exam for allocating MD/MS/PG diploma seats. 

How Marks Calculated for NEET PG Result

NEET PG result will be prepared on the basis of the marking scheme. NEET PG question paper comprises 200 questions of 800 marks in the exam. The marking scheme for the calculation of the total score of the candidate is given below:

NEET PG Types of Merit Lists

The candidates can see below the types of NEET PG merit lists:

  • All India 50% quota rank: This is an overall merit list and denotes the merit position of the candidate amongst all those who have appeared for the entrance test, irrespective of their category. The overall merit list will include all the names of all the candidates who have appeared for the examination.
  • All India 50% quota category rank: This is a category-wise merit list and denotes the merit position of the candidate amongst all the candidates from only that category (OBC/SC/ST), as opted by the candidate. This list will only include the names of those candidates who had opted for reservations under the respective category.

A: 

NBE can hold back the results of the candidates who have not submitted the mandatory documents along with their NEET PG applications. Such candidates will not be eligible to participate in the counselling process. Candidates are advised to submit all the documents in the given deadline. NBE may not entertain any such request for submission of documents after the due date. NEET PG result is released in the form of merit list on the official website. Candidates who qualify the exam with the minimum will be able to download the scorecard with login details.

NEET PG Cut off Score and Percentile

The National Board of Examinations In Medical Sciences will release the NEET PG 2026 Cutoff with the declaration of result. The Board will release the category-wise cutoff for the candidates. The candidates must score equal to or greater then their category cutoff to get selected for Counselling. The cut off percentile for NEET PG is different for candidates belonging to different categories. NEET PG cut off scores can be revised by the NBE, in consent with the Medical Council of India (MCI), if the number of qualified candidates is insufficient.

Candidates must note the result PDF for NEET PG 2026 will not be sent to individual candidates but he/she will have to download it from the official website, nbe.edu.in.  Those who qualify the examm will be able to download NEET PG scorecards. 

NBE also releases NEET PG merit list for All India Quota 50% seats. It must be noted MCC conducts counselling for 50% seats while respective state counselling bodies will conduct counselling for rest 50% seats. 

NEET PG scores will be valid for admission to 13,886 Master of Surgery (MS), 26,699 Doctor of Medicine (MD), and 922 PG Diploma seats. NEET PG 2025 counselling for 50% AIQ and 50% state quota seats will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

Yes. NEET PG cut off depends on difficulty level of question paper in NEET PG exam. In addition, cut off also depends on number of candidates appearing for the exam and availablity of seats. If difficulty level will be more, then cut off will be low and so on. NBE releases cut off score with NEET PG result.

If there is issue in the details candidates should contact NBE authorities immediately and get it rectified. If a candidate fails to get the errors rectified on the NEET PG 2026 result, he/she may lose the chance to attend the counselling even if he/she qualifies for the examination. The details should match those printed on the documents of the candidates and his/her photo ID proof. 

What after NEET PG 2026 Result?

After NEET PG 2026 result declaration, candidates will have to participate in the counselling. Candidates will have to register online and declare choice for college and course for NEET PG 2026 counselling. Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct counselling for allotment of 50 percent AIQ seats while respective state counselling bodies will conduct counselling for rest seats. A merit list is published by MCC for 50 % All India Quota seats. The merit list will comprise eligible candidates for seat allotment. The seat will be allotted based on different factors including NEET PG marks, percentile, reservation criteria, choice filled, seat availablity etc.

Q:   What is the total and sectional duration of NEET PG exam?
A: 

The total duration of NEET PG exam is 3.5 hours or 210 minutes. In 2024, NBE introduced time bound section in NEET PG exam. This means candidates will have specific time to solve specific number of questions. Whole question paper is divided into 5 sections (A to E) with 40 questions each. Candidates get 42 minutes to solve each section. It must be noted candidates can't answer questions of any section till he/she exahusts allotted time (42 minutes) of previous section. 

Q:   Will NBE send NEET PG scorecard to candidates?
A: 

No. NBE will not send NEET PG scorecard to candidates. Qualified candidates will have to download the scorecard online. They will have to login on the official website and enter registration credentials to download scorecards. The scorecard must be preserved as it will be used at various stages of admission process. 

Q:   What details are there in NEET PG scorecards?
A: 

NEET PG scorecards contains a series of details including name and date of birth, roll number, category etc. In addition, the scorecard also contains marks scored, NEET PG rank, number of correct and incorrect reponse etc. Candidates will have to download the scorecards through registration credentials.

Q:   Does NTA release NEET PG result like NEET?
A: 

No. Though NEET result is announced by National Testing Agency (NTA) but it doesn't declare NTEET PG result. National Board of Examinations (NBE) declares the result for NEET PG. The result is uploaded online for candidates who appear for the exam. NEET PG result is released in PDF format comprising details such as roll number, marks scored, rank etc. Candidates who score the minimum cut off are declared qualified for the exam. The qualifying cut off is different for different category. 

Q:   What is the qualifying NEET PG 2025 cut off percentile for the general category?
A: 

Candidates have to score the minimum cut off to qualify for the exam. The cut off varies for different categories. NEET PG 2025 cut off percentile for the general category students is 50. Those who score less than minimum cut off for that category do not qualify for the exam. A merit list is released based on the cut off marks, comprising name of candidates eligible for the counselling rounds. It must be noted that NEET PG result is valid for that particular academic year only and it can't be used next year or so.

Candidates have to appear in the exam and qualify it with the minimum cut off marks as per the category. Thereafter, he/she will have to participate in the counselling process for seat allocation. Seats are allotted based on choice declared, NEET PG rank, available seats, reservation fcator etc.

Q:   Does NBE release question paper for NEET PG?
A: 

No. Usullay NBE doesn't release the official question paper for NEET PG exam but for 2025-26 session, it released question ID and answer key. Candidates can download question Id, answer key and response sheet after login to the application page. NBE also released NEET PG 2025 scorecards on August 29, 2025. NEET PG 2025 result was announced on August 19, 2025.

Q:   Which are the institutes that do not accept NEET PG scores for admission?
A: 

15 AIIMS including AIIMS New Delhi, PGIMER Chandigarh, JIPMER, Puducherry, NIMHANS Bengaluru, SGPGI Lucknow, and Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum do not accept NEET PG scores. A separate exam is conducted for admission at these institutes, i.e INI CET. The exam is conducted twice in a year in computer-based mode.

Q:   Will the authorities reduce the cutoff percentile for NEET PG 2025?
A: 

The qualifying/ cutoff percentile for NEET PG can be lowered if there are not enough candidates for the counselling process. Such decisions will be taken in consultation with the Medical Council of India and will be informed to the test-takers via an official notification. In 2023, MCC had reduced NEET PG cut off percentile to zero for all category for stray vacancy round counselling. MCC had reduced cut off for 2024-25 session as well. Reduction of NEET PG cut off depends on many factors including number of vacant seats to be filled up. 

Q:   Has NBE released NEET PG 2025 merit list for 50% All India Quota seats?
A: 

Yes. NBE released NEET PG 2025 merit list for 50% All India quota seats on August 27, 2025. the merit list was uplaoded online in PDF format, comprising deatials such as NEET PG 2025 rank, AIR rank, AIR category etc. NBE has already released NEET PG 2025 result on August 19, 2025. 

Q:   Will NEET PG scorecards be sent by post to the candidates?
A: 

No, the scorecard of NEET PG 2025 will not be sent by post to any candidate. Candidates will have to download the scorecard online. It must be noted only qualified candidates can download NEET PG scorecard from the official website, nbe.edu.in. Candidates will have login and enter details such as application number and password to download NEET PG scorecard. Candidates have to score the minimum cut off marks to qualify for NEET PG exam.
