NEET PG Latest News 2024

The Supreme Court is expected to hear petitions concerning the NEET PG exam 2024 on October 25, 2024. Reportedly, the Apex Court has deferred the NEET PG 2024 Supreme Court hearing date to October 25 as mentioned on the SC's official website. The hearing, owing to the last-minute changes in the examination pattern and other irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test was urged by several petitioners and has been postponed several times making students indignant about the decision.

The_Eloquent_Medico, a social media user has written on X, formerly Twitter, saying "4th Ini Batch will have taken admission since last NEET PG happened. What a mockery of 2.16 lakhs NEET PG aspirants & Medical Education system in the country. Now Honorable CJI will hear the case on 25th October."

As per the turn of events, the Supreme Court, in the previous proceeding considered last-minute changes in the examination pattern as 'very rare'. The bench led by Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud slammed the National Board of Examinations for modifying the NEET PG exam pattern at the last minute and asked NBEMS and the centre to answer within a week.

Meanwhile, the petitioners have also questioned the transparency of the examination as the examination was conducted in two shifts and the lower-than-expected marks were received by numerous students. Besides, NEET PG exam paper leak and exam postponement have been pointed out during the Supreme Court's previous hearing.

NEET PG Counselling Schedule 2024 Awaited

The NEET PG counselling registration 2024 is underway. However, the authorities have not yet announced the complete counselling schedule. Students took to Twitter to share their displeasure with the incautious behaviour of the Medical Counselling Committee which is responsible for conducting the counselling process for 50% of All India Quota MD and MS seats across India.

In the meantime, The United Doctors Front Association (UDFA) has urged Hon’ble Health Minister JP Nadda to intervene in the delay of the NEET PG 2024 counselling process. The association has requested the ministry to take adequate actions at the earliest as the delay in the counselling process is causing undue stress and tension for over 2 lakh NEET PG aspirants.
